Note her outfit coordinated with my boat upholstery. That is no accident. Mom has always been a girly-girl.

So glad she made a fast recovery and could enjoy this day.

    Sorry to see that Harry.

My 90 year old Dad just arrived in Seattle after a busy week visiting my sister and her husband to be in MN.

We had a two mile walk with the pup.

Then he insisted on helping with yardwork that a late WA spring needed.

Turned my back for a second and he was vacuuming my car.

I was back in the old country in May for his birthday. He still heel and toes on downshifts and gets a thrill from making tires squeal as if he was 25.

Gym three times a week, three days a week he volunteers at a Battle of Britain museum... because "he can explain what it was like"

We're going to a ball game tomorrow but he's worried about filling in the day before then.

My mom passed 15 years ago and over a late night whiskey tonight he wept about missing her.

    Update 2am

She fell and hit her head on the wall. I called 911, took her to ER. Scan shows bleeding in brain.

Wow that's scary. similar happened to my mom at her assisted living facility awhile ago. They found her on the floor of her apartment bleeding. She recovered fine after a couple days thankfully. Hoping mama Harry's last name gets past this one too. Medicare does sometimes cover assisted living facility fees and/or professional in home nursing 24/7 when things get unmanageable.. Something to think about

    Older parents-WWYD?

Update: drove Mom to Mayo for Neurologist appointment. No current bleeding in her brain from the fall and she passed all tests. Still some blood in brain, but they say it is getting absorbed.

My brother urged me to GTFO for a few days while he watched over her. I think he thought I might go to Duluth and chill for a day or two, instead I drove to Big Sky and had lunch with my buddy Talisman. During lunch his phone rang and it was Djongo. I called my brother and added a day to my trip and headed to Jackson. Whirlwind 6 day break from caring for Mom, I needed it. 2 days driving, 1 day in Big Sky, 1 day in Jackson, and 2 days driving back. Sounds dumb, but I got a good mental reset.

Mom is stabilized for now and life is good.

Thanks for all PM’s and vibes. I was going nuts for awhile.

Glad to hear she's doing all right, Harry.

Just got back from a trip to visit my dad (90) and my wife's parents (her dad is 85). My dad is doing remarkably well all things considered, her dad is not doing well, can barely walk due to balance issues and falls once or twice a day. Won't use a walker. They live in an old three-story home with NO BATHROOM on the main floor. I'm afraid it's only a matter of time until he hurts himself in a fall. Really sad to see, just up until a few years ago he was a hardcore road biker.

My wife's sister is pressuring the folks to move out of the old house, but they don't want to. Lots of stress between siblings right now over this issue.

Nice break, Yay that mom's doing better! Did you get some waffles? I had to buy my wife a jacket up at Corbetts because she refused to believe me when I told her how much colder it was going to be up there in the summer. "I'll be fine like this"... Uhhh I doubt that but let's go get on the tram..
