To bad they didn't open the alpine during opening weekend when we had epic conditions. Guess I can't complain as it's still stellar early session conditions.

Today was pretty good despite only 9cm new reported. Plenty of pow in all the usual stashes. The added bonus of no crowds made for a great day.

I was a bit surprised to see how much of the base was lost from the pineapple espress. Some of the tree lines I was skiing on opening weekend are now getting a bit sketch in spots.

Vail North aka Whistler Conditions 2017-18

what's the deal with fresh tracks and the WB unlimited pass versus the epic pass?

Buddy of mine is planning to ride tomorrow, what's the best day pass option these days? Still the fast track at the 7-11 in squamish?

Conditions are of acceptable quality. 4cms new - double that in windloaded aspects in alpine. Skies clear. Temps - 10. Winds nil. Observed stability GOOD on NE slopes of up to 40 deg

Skiers - Sharon, Chris, Matt, Stu

Conditions were excellent this weekend as Lee’s pics show. Managed to get in a lot of good skiing off Harmony ridge on Saturday once Peak was gang banged. Lines weren’t as bad as I was expecting.

Conditions are looking pretty good from Lee's pics over the weekend... I can swing a few days off of work through the weekend and might pull the trigger on a last minute trip. Any thoughts on how the snowpack will hold up to the higher freezing levels and warmer temps?

it won't. freezing levels 1000m above whistler peak are forecasted. unless you are looking for spring skiing, i'd wait or go elsewhere

Although the freezing levels are going to be really high, the alpine high temps aren't going to be that bad. The worst I see in the forecast is a high of 5 degrees on Thursday.

Snow forecast is overoptimistic for snow but in the ballpark for FL's. And the FL's aren't terrible. You won't get triple overhead pow but it won't suck ass.

I had relatives visiting from LA the week before and this would have been perfect for them,. C'est la vie

Lee did you pull out some old camera from 1997? What happened to the quality of your pics?

Please feed us poor souls that can't actually get out into the mountains some good clear crisp images.

My new Sunday afternoon routine might be to drop off the weekends worth of the kids dirty diapers on your door step.

I didn't have the zoom for some of those shots and it was way too photoshopped! My bad!

Some more from the Cowboy Chute Flute zone

These Blizzard Ski ZeroG 108 are 100+ days on snow and still have lots of life. Probably the best most durable BC ski I've ever used

Wow, that's a lot of work for one summer. I'm sure we'll all feel it in lift ticket and pass price increases.
