Tom petty wrote songs about all of us.. about our world. That's why he was so great, and that's why it is so sad.

Warren Haynes wrote about a tour ABB did with Petty. Said he had so many hits they couldn't fit them into one night. And it wasn't just that they were hits, they were songs that everybody likes.

But, I'm sure you and others like you had lots to do with the success. Post pics if you have them.

And I am sure Tom Petty would approve of this drift
Come to think of it I think I have a pic of Don Johnson (among others) as well. Of course there was no digital imaging then and to get my pics in a format easily displayable here is more than I have in me at the moment (apologies), but I'll keep the notion on the back burner.

I watched the Live Aid film a while back and caught a glimpse (barely) of my longhaired self in the wings during the Beach Boys set. That gave me a little thrill.

It was EXTREMELY cool to be there and was really unforgettable. I was also with them at the first Farm Aid, and the 4th of July (same year?) where we played Philly and DC the same day and rode Amtrak between the two on a private train packed with all the many artists on the bills for those shows. I think that was the year that shut down the 4th on the DC mall for a while.

    Good times with incredible memories.

I read he had a number of health problems, including a broken hip that he insisted on going on tour on which made it worse.

the whole thing is on Netflix, the one on You Tube is missing some parts, but worthwhile.

Jamin Me FTMFW. bonus points "for those indiana boys ona indianna nite"

BTW anybody here remember what we called "dot dot dots" which was the little section you got by your name in the HS annual ? ours was a questionare the end of which you could put a quote. I'd been shipped off to boarding slash reform school where my roomate's quote was something like "Sometimes, I don't know why, this whole town just seems so hopeless..."

I;ve got that dvd box set at home. It's good. Has a nice audio CD with it as well with a rockin version of honey bee on it. I think it was with Dave Grohl on drums on SNL.

This one I believe... TURN IT UP!!!

    sigless.
