    Show us yer Touring Quivers!

Whatcha got? Post a pic of yer rigs and yer boots (HT to mbillie on boots)

    Me:

I got the 1st gen Maestrale RS for my BC boot.

Perhaps some pics of skis and touring rigs will draw winter closer sooner, like moths to a flame, or maggots to ski porn.

^^^those Lhasas? If so, that's pretty funny, because I think we have basically gone through the same skis (12/13 Bibbys, 06/07 Bros, and 191 Lhasas...)

I got the ~90, ~100, ~110, ~120 spots covered... honestly thinking about getting something shorter/narrower next. Not sure I can make anything happen this year though with buying a house... the Black Crows Vastus Freebird is interesting though. Voile Objective also. Trab Maestro also but woof the price...

Good one on the boots -- a key (the key?) component to a touring rig.

Wish I had gotten the 179 Lowdown 102 instead of the 186. It has a good long effective edge and turn radius, so don't really need the full length. Wanna trade?

Heh, it does indeed ski like a much bigger ski. My version slightly predates yours, and has a much stranger rocker profile I believe, but I do love it. The one thing I do intend to change about the quiver this season is to replace those speed radicals (mercifully mounted via inserts) with some lighter franken-binding that fits the holes. I think the Kreuzspitze adjustment plate will hold either their binding or the Plums, and the toes will work with SSL toes... once you go weight weenie, you never go back

Those are 187 GPO's that will get kingpins and 182 UL GPO's with the SSL's. May add adjustment plates to the Zero G's so they work with both boots.

heh those were pretty heavy anyway, once I got my now-broken-in-half Carbon Bros, those became basically rock skis / sticker collectors still can't quite bring myself to sell them, but they rarely see the snow

I'll post a pic one it's all put together but:
    Vulcans
192 Lotus 138 pures (not sure what binding yet, maybe one without brakes? Mag guidance and feedback would be nice.)
    189 Cham 107s w/Rad 2.0 FT12

Would like to add a narrow/short corn harvester as well, not sure what will go in that slot. Want something 85-90mm underfoot, touch of tip rocker, flat tail, mid 20s radius, ~179 - 181 length.

Get some ion LT 12's. Brakes aren't going to do you any good on a ski that big if you're actually using it in what it's designed for.

I can't think of anything under 90mm underfoot that has a mid-20s radius, other than the Down LD90 which is discontinued. Even the 0G85 is right around 20m

Just in case -- geo said in the Down Group Buy thread they were open to pressing a few LD90s this year if people want in.

Word. I was leaning toward brakeless for sure.

A 179 bro is pretty close, right? A little wide I guess.

    I'll Play.

No pictures to hand though and I probably won't be arsed to take any

185 Countdown Carbon 6, Radicals - although a new pair of KingPins sitting next to them - Great ski must get back on this more.. hence binding switch - Radicals are fucked.
189 Countdown 114, Ions - pretty certain I'm not going to put the kinpins on these and put Ions on the 6s - but it's possible. So much fun, felt a little long for me at first but really enjoy these boards now.
182 Voile Drifter, Verticals - hugely underrated and bargain ski. Poor mans DPS 120
178 Dynastar Cham 97 HM, Comforts. - Spring, volcano, low tide ski.
Plus There's an original black top sheet pair of S7s with dukes - that I haven't got around to throwing away.

    And since we're doing boots.

TLT6 which I don't really like so hardly ever ski.
    Vulcans. Which I LOVE
Somewhere there's a pair of Garmont Axons which I'd have to use to ski the S7s again... so skiing the S7s again probably isn't happening. The Dukes are worn out anyway

    Socks...red ones.

The 179 Bro is still probably the best spring ski I've ever been on, but yeah, it's 99mm underfoot.

No picture here either, may add later.

178 Blizzard ZeroG 108 with Vipec Black. These are my main sticks.

168 Icelantic Nomad with Dynafit speed turn 2. Added bindings to these 8 year old skis last year as my low tide, tight NE skis.

176 Dynafit Baltoro with skitrab race bindings. Bought to use on Volcanoes and fast long adventures. Don't seem to do much of that and these stay in the closet.

Like your choice of bindings isbd

Not discontinued as much as low in demand. We can easily make more.

Oh, I have a pair of unmounted 172cm/89mm waisted CD 89's from a few years back. Same sidecut as the LD 102, 41m radius. Some got them and loved them, most didn't "get" them.

    Slight hijack end.

    Aw fuck it.
    178 Wailer 105 Pure3
    186 RPC Pure3
    177 Protest
    All with Sollyfits/Verticals.

I've tried multiple skinnier, light-ass volcano skis (Zero G 95, Vectors, OG Wailer 105s, Wailer 99s) and they all skied like complete shit for me so I went back to heavier W105s with the heavier P3 layup when I found some relatively cheap and my Rustler 10s (pretty good, but tiny radius) got lost in a weird avy incident.

Boots: Vulcans. Similar to PNWBrit, I have TLT5Ps but don't use them because I hate how they ski and LOVE the Vulcans.

I'm so sad I never bought a pair of the full carbons. I was saving funds to have splat press them, and then they went belly-up.

geo/Simon—it would be so sick if you partnered with splat to (re-)produce the 179 Bro. Just sayin'.
