I'm taking public transportation to Union Station. Where do I go from there? I want good beer, food, and some funkiness. We have a chick with us so there's that too. I'll find weed I'm sure.

Walk over to Euclid Hall for beer, food, and some funkiness
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!

Walk over the pedestrian bridge to My Brothers Bar next to REI which is also good for a walk through.
Tupelo Honey is right by Union station too. Upscale southern food and drinks.
Wynkoop brewpub is always good for a visit. Good beer and food.
Fresh craft is a few blocks away and will have a good selection of those hazy IPAs you like so much.

I didn't get to do any of the fun dinner/drink places when I was there a few weeks back. However, I did stumble into The Egg Shell, just south of 17th on Curtis. Excellent breakfast burrito. Highly recommend the pork, green chili gravy over the top of it.

Machete on Wynkoop is a good stop for tacos and tequila drinkin'. Walking distance from the train station.

How much you wanna spend? What does the chick like?

    Funky:
    - My Brothers Bar is good suggestion. Inexpensive, solid burgers. Greasy. Classical on the jukebox at all times. $
    - Forest Room 5 for cocktails after Brothers Bar. Fucking weird place. Pretty sure everyone's on drugs. $$.
    - Euclid is nicer, good sausages, fantastic beer list. $$ (to $$$$ if you go crazy on the beer.)
    - Ophelia's is funky -- good food, okay taps, $$/$.

    Beer:
    - Wynkoop -- pass unless you like mediocre beer and generic SysCo food. $$
    - Freshcraft has expansive taplist. Meh food. $$
    - Falling Rock taphouse is the biggest taplist you'll find. Generic atmosphere but know their beer. $$.
    - Jagged Mountain is best brewery within walking distance (unless you go towards HiLo--i.e. my brothers bar). New head brewer started there 5 or 6 months ago and is good. $$/$$$.
    - If you walk towards HiLo then Denver Beer Co/Cerveceria (same owners, different ideas) or Probst (solid german sytles.) $$ . Best people watching is at DBC.

Food is all about what you wanna spend:
    - Tavernetta is right where you get off the train. One of the best restaurants in Denver. Italian. Run by people who did Frasca. $$$$$
    - Mercantile is in Union Station. Big open swanky space. Extremely good farm-to-table. $$$$
    - El Five has dope views and very good Mediterranean food if you're walking that way. $$$
    - Grab Maria Empanadas and eat them at Denver Beer Co. $
    - Take Light Rail to 10th & Osage and eat at Buckhorn exhcange. Now there is a Denver experience. $$$

    One stop shop: Euclid Hall.
Walking and drinking: Beer at Denver Beer Co/Cerveceria, burgers at My Brothers, drugs and cocktails at Forest Room 5.
    Balling: Tavernetta and banging.

What doebedoe said but I'll add that Masterpiece Deli has baller sandwiches for lunchtime, or the best hangover cure of a breakfast sandwich I've found anywhere. It's not cheap but it is worth it.

N00b is good! Codename superfan is also pretty legit. But, while your have access to some quality taps, you should seek out some outer range. Them's some real serviceable ipas.

Forest room maybe one of the coolest places I've ever been! Dig the vibe! Your description was awesome!

    Hey all. Bumping this.

Will be getting into Denver in an hour or so, looking for dinner somewhere not too far from Meow Wolf. With wife and teenage daughter

Anyone have any good dinner recommendations? Not necessarily upscale ($$$), more like ethnic and different.

So now you have to explain why people are camping on the sidewalk why those guys are all wearing matching shirts and why those ladies are just standing around in high heels in January why someone seems to be dying and every one is walking by about their business

Mean while your getting dinner advice from a guy that is hundreds of miles from Denver completely plowed who just gave himself a sponge bath

What a fucking great countrywe live in
