Winter driving.....there are no lines and no rules.

I usually use AT tires and could probably get a Pike's peak course record blindfolded on wallmarts cheapest tire. Went dedicated snow tires this year just to see if I can do some wall rides.

I think it depends on the car. Ive seen (and driven) all wheel drives with a sophisticated traction control sitting on all seasons rally the fuck outta a 2wd or even a older awd with winter/studs.
No doubt it would be better with winters on frozen roads but it's not all about snow/ice when most or half the drive is on wet/dry.

99% of shit shows are between silent rock and meadows brought to you by people who thought their shit was in order, but are on all seasons

My point was that some autos are simply better than others at certain things

Not to mention drivers. Some people grew up racing atvs in the ice and snow and get it. Some will never get it.

In my experience: there are weekday drivers, and weenend drivers...
its mostly because of the latter that I stay home on weekends.
have a great day on the hill everybody! The Hardest Workin' Man in Snow-Business

Have fun out there guys, watching jealously from the lesser coast. Pretty good start to the season... considering a trip out to Hood River in early December to visit family + ski.

Hammer down and keep it between the ditches bitches.
I'm totally spoiled with Symetrical AWD and some of the best studded winter snow tires period, Good Ultra Grip.
That 1995 Subbie has 219000 miles and I have never chained up, nor put 'er in the ditch.
Good luck on the opening day shit show. Those first 2 hours will be amazing snow!

Govt camp some black ice. No slippage. A few beaters. Not too bad. Parking lot is only 3-4 rows deep so far.

There is no stoke in the season pass line. Glad I got in early.
Wondering what the snow is gonna be like.
It does not look like "early season conditions" up here.

Chalk and settled heavy pow in the shade to start the day. Cold and partly cloudy turned to sunny by noon.
The boy found a snow snake . He’s ok. Take care off piste! Worst i found was unexpected compression holes! Still a lot to fill in.
Had to keep it short today with other afternoon responsibilities
Enjoyed seeing mattig & fam back on the snow
Great day overall!
