my dullard self is as sharp as ever!
i hope to make it over there if the franchise is extended to bachelor and maybe even if it's not. with the family or solo. i would say it's doubtful for the usual reasons but i'll try. it's been a while. still haven't spun any laps with anybody but you from the cent-or region.

Anyone gonna be at Meadows tomorrow? Will be at HRM early, probably waxing skis on the tailgate.
Or sleeping. Either way, come say hi.

Yes, not many details on that one, but, sounds like it might've been at the bottom/near Rock Garden? Sounds like for whatever reason he may have pre-released out of his bindings, and went head first into a hole. Yikes!
I also went into a hole on far side of Heather, skier's left, in the woods, skiing with a friend. Dry creek bed. Came around the corner and she had fallen into a small hole, and was struggling to right herself. Not much danger there. I waited til she got out of there, she skied ahead a little bit. I made a hard right around some trees to avoid said hole, dropped down onto what I thought was the trail, and promptly fell feet first into a ginormous hole, bigger than what she fell into. Skis popped off, snow came down onto my face, a moment of terror. Snow quickly subsided, and I realized that I would/should be ok, if I could extracate myself from this 10ft. hole! Caught my breath, reached up with my ski pole tips to wave to my friend that I was alright(she turned around and I had disappeared!). She came back to check/help me. I began digging in the seemingly bottomless snow beneath my feet for my skis, located and dug them out, then, after more catching of my breath, began slowly climbing out of the hole, finally managing to climb over the top of the lip. Shit. Scary stuff. Came away relatively unscathed, though I made that the last run of my day. . . Needless to say, I won't be taking that trail again. STay safe in the woods, and elsewhere.

Nice day at T Lapz today. Ski date day with Mrs. Dead. Price of nachos at the y bar is not a good thing to think about. 2nd hit on blossom is real nice for me right now. Took inspiration from wyeaster and road the shuttle up and skied Alpine back to the car. Mrs. Dead was a fan of the Alpine.

nice, oregondead. the three of us are doing the alpine trail today, assuming i can rally everybody after a really long day yesterday. i'd say it's 50-50 at this point.
i got 14 laps with 5 laps of magic mile/jeff flood top to bottom through the bone zones and other cool stuff.
the boy had race day at powderhounds and he was the only kid to tuck the whole thing (very short and low angle, so the tuck actually hurt him, but he watched a ton of olympic skiing) and i detected moisture in my eyes that was not from snow. it was supposed to be easy going and fun but he was the smallest, lightest kid and had no momentum and finished last and he was crushed. spent most of the rest of the day in bounceback mode.

So stoked! Staying at the Silcox Hut tomorrow night. Always wanted to, never thought I'd get the chance... Anybody stay there before?
