I just drove by Willamette Pass and I bet that the trail from Davis Lake up to Maiden Peak will be open very soon!

Yeah, the Pass basically only has 10" of snow on the ground at pass elevation ... it's funny, I think there is more snow on the north facing stuff above Salt Creek canyon than there is at the top of the pass.

Anyways, if you or anyone else is looking for a mission partner to Maiden, I'm game. It looks like not that far of a schwack/skin from the PCT trailhead near the resort as well?

Same goes for a Diamond Peak mission.

I have a medium clearance vehicle (8+" when loaded with gear) ... not sure if that's enough for the road around the west side of Davis Lake or from Crescent to Summit Lake?

Holding off for tomorrow. I bet it's good up there. Hope the wind doesn't get too wild...

    Hey Schralph,

Your vehicle will have no problem with the road from Davis Lake, as long as the snow has melted off the road. I have driven it in my Outback with no problem. If the road is open, this is a much easier access than the one from Willamette Pass. The determining factor is the snow and I don't know of any way to determine that without just driving up there. I am unfamiliar with Summit Lake. However Red Top Mt, out of crescent is usually accessible as long as there is snow to ski.

I am not able to head up there any time soon, but thanks for the offer. Maiden is a good ski when the road opens up, but be mindful that it can slide. It would be even better if you can ski in and camp at the base of the mountain for a couple of days.

Headed up to T-Line to ride some heavy, fresh snow on what looks to be a sunny day. Albeit, a warm day as it’s alreay 30* up there, but the Mile is turning so it should be nice up high.

The snow setup quick and got pretty heavy. Plus, it was super warm. Bailed at lunch time when I was done sweating my ass off.

Good eye! What you’re seeing are my Goats and my wife’s Wren 88’s with Goat Topsheets. She liked the Goat graphic way more than the other options. Her Wren 88’s are setup w/ the 19oz softer fiberglass and softer carbon. She spends most of her time on the groomers laying trenches.

Props to Celebrated and the shooter for bringing stokes to this thread - I bet you dudes can make even the Summit resort look gnarly.

All I want to do is a simple 360. That's it …just can’t nut up to try even. :-(

there's gotta be a less injurious, step-up option
    180 first?

Yeah Swaney didn't even need to get air to make it to the Olympics.
Also straight airs and 5050s are the hip thing now anyways.

The 180 and 50/50 are easy tricks that even i can do them with ease. On the other hand.360 requires a good air awareness that I no longer possess. When my son was 12 he nailed 360 first time he tried. Me? ...landed short and almost tore my knee and haven’t tried since. Spinning tricks are not for the old farts.

Just got into town last night and will be here for the next 8 days... Looks my timing could not have been any better - full on winter is hitting and snow is forecasted for the next several days...! Just regretting drinking as many Boneyard RPMs as I did last night... Nothing that the Crux won't take care f after skiing today...

I’m headed back up to T-Line today, if anyone else is gonna be up say “hi!” I’ll be on my wood veneer K98’s lapping Mile, Norm and Flood chairs. Supposed to start snowing again this afternoon.

Corduroy all morning followed by chasing rivers of wind blown on the Mile. It started snowing at lunch and was soft and fun, but wet and sticky.
