Closing date for our house in Hood River is 10/26, so Ullr will open the spigot on 10/27.

I saw snow on a pic that someone could conceivably go put boards on. Sure they would only get a free stone grind today, but we'd be in on the technicality. Then again the longer we wait, the more it will pay off.

Restraint yourselves. Do not consume all the Viagra at one time. Your vision will turn red, making you go faster than you should on rocksngrass

This thread isn't even 400 days old. 1718 is good enough we should keep it going for at least 400 days if not longer.
Forecast for Sunday looks very tempting for a long slog to the top o Palmer.

Channel 8 was in the parking lot to report the first snow, at parking lot level) of the season. I had been happy to see it come today on the cams, but somehow snow in October at Timberline being worthy of sending a news van to made me sad for the gone days.
In the Govy ODOT shed they keep the 1980s something Autocar (big plow) chained up year-round for the sometimes summer snow storms. I wonder how many more years they will do that if we dont get our first snow until October.
Today, Snow!
Long term, were fucked!

lets talk dirtbag passes...
im a broke grad student who just moved back to the pnw this year, based in so-lame, have fridays off and possibly some weeknight evenings free, rarely time for overnight trips even on weekends
used to do skibow night pass, loved it, but snow quality varied... a lot... and im guessing the last few years ive been away and not paying attention havent seen an improvement...
hows the meadows night scene?
midweek pass options?
bachy 5 pack?
other?
sidenote: looking for cheapo skis, something 190ish and on the playful side to complement my 194 xxls, something fun to dick around on while skiing with intermediates but can still hold up to a few hot laps before the bell, damp, large radius, fairly stiff all required, but not a big mountain comp ski, more like an old beat up wren with coreshots and 25 holes in each ski being sold for a six pack... stumble on anything or got something in the garage gathering dust let me know

Consider volunteering for Oregon Adaptive Sports @ Hoodoo. You get a pass for the day you volunteer, plus after four days you also get a second pass for a future date. And as we discussed this summer you are always welcome to overnight at my house if the drive home is too much.

If anybody's around Hood River on 10/27, consider signing up for this event. Proceeds are going towards medical expenses for a kid who was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor.

radsauce, that sounds fun as hell, got an inside contact or should i just fire off an email to them?
also how the fuck you doin? havent seen anything from 242 over summer, season go well?
out of my broke ass budget but thx for lookin out
if nothing else works out these sound nice, but may still be out of my budget...
pow is a r/r ski isnt it? not sure how well they would be for dicking around days... but they sound like a good ski to add to the quiver regardless haha
if dirty cheap keep me in mind
ive been debating the bachy 5pack, but honestly im not a huge bachelor fan, and the drive is pretty damn long unless im staying a few days, not sure that really fits with my scheduling this season... idk... still debating
speaking my budget language there!
length? comments on how they ski?
ive got some old fks sitting around and am a 326 bsl so usually plenty of room for more holes
anyone have season predictions? low elevations gonna get some snow this year? how did the bowl and hoodoo fare last season? meadows night vibe?
looking forward to ski season back in the pnwet, i managed 1 day on stix in MN over the last 5 years, that was enough of that... gonna need to do some leg days though so i can last more than 1 run haha

Mine aren't out of your budget if you don't want the bindings. Little Swiss cheesy underneath but with common holes
