    Mountain Lions in New England

I swear to Christ I saw one the other day, riding my bike in Drewsville, NH. It crossed the road, near dusk. It looked to be a young one, with a long tail. And then today, I'm down at the little grocery store in town, and I overhear a woman talking to the cashier, about a mountain lion.
She and her husband saw one crossing a field down in Westmoreland, one town south of me.
What gives? Did I see a Mountain Lion in the CT River valley?

There is no evidence of Mountain Lions in NH. No confirmed sightings, no scat, fur or bones. But, I'm pretty sure I saw one.

The tail, was the thing that struck me the most. It was huge. Not a Bobcat.

There are always rumors flying around. I have a few logger friends that swear they have seen one too.

Although are you sure it just wasn't a cougar trying out her Halloween costume a few weeks early?

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Why not? There a documented one that walked from South Dakota over a thousand miles before getting killed by a car in yes, fucking Connecticut. Jesus, that state and cars. But anyways; http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2...imals-science/

No reason there can't be more. That one coulda easily have gone to NH instead of CT.

I agree with iceman. Game cams have them in Upper Michigan. If they can be here, they can for sure be there.

My understanding is here are lots of cougars throughout NE. I think it has something to do with all their stockbroker husbands and their girlfriends.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

I'm pretty sure there have been recent-ish reported sightings in western CT and central MA, so it seems possible to me.

there was a mtn lion from South Dakota shot on the north side of Chicago years back .... (rumor has it he was there for deep dish and sushi)
Sad story, but no people were hurt/killed which is unreal when I think about the dense neighborhoods where that cat was hiding out.

Anything is possible but maybe it was raised by someone then cut loose (please no Kenny Logins) and never reported because it's against the law to raise one ?

Could it have been a Caracal ?
