You can put the shades away for a bit. They jacked the highs a touch. I guess it could be dbl digits in the alpine with the Pineapple Express.

In bounds ski touring at Red was feeling like a ski hill this weekend. Great coverage, solid base, and easy turning. Only one more day of fun till it craps out for the week.

Seems like the warming peaked overnight and the snowpack in the alpine hasn’t significantly diminished. Should set up like concrete. Returning to snow and more seasonable temps from Saturday night onwards.

anyone knows if the gorge is still plowed ? almost seems like they were pulling equipment out on sunday. We saw the avalanche happened last saturday up there. The guy was riding on his own and he's really lucky he didn't get buried considering the crown was nearly 100cm

Was up there Tuesday. They were hitting it hard with the grader and a backhoe. Pushing all the banks way back and stepping them. I’m guessing they’ll be there a bit longer.

We are breathlessly awaiting your TR from Monashee.

I am interested to hear how the thick ice crust, with minimal fresh dust played out.

3 to 4 cm ice crust with about 5 to 10cm on top. Some aspects have close to 20. It's fun because you can't make a mistake and get away with it . Also the party level was at 11 last night.

I haven't seen you go past 7 3/4 in years. I am going to have confirm this from an independent source.

    Hello Canadian brethren...

I'm headed north from Colorado at the end of this month to visit friends in Nelson and ski and chill out and enjoy the area and whatnot. We will probably ski WH2O at least a couple/few days, depending on conditions there and in the backcountry. Other times when I've been up there, my buddy has often had a few freebie lift tickets for me, but evidently that won't be happening this time. So I'm wondering whether there are any options I should look at for finding reduced price tickets? I'm aware of the powderplus card, but it seems like that doesn't really work out unless you're skiing six days. Are there any other options to think about? Thank you for any info.

Also, my apologies in advance if my visit results in a continuation of the current drought. This is not my intention.

Makes for nice walking in the sunshine, and the snow surface hasn’t crapped out, yet.

1 more sleep until the resort opens. Had a few runs on Red chair today - pretty nice in spots, sketch in others. Limited opening tomorrow.

"T-shirt weather" up top in the sun I hear.
