When Alberta cuts off oil to B.C, we can cut off Albertan use of the Southern BC thread. That'll fix 'em.

Yesterday we suffered
Skied little White from Gillard Road
The approach was long and slow going
The top section was actually super fun skiing even in the wind crust.
After this we made a horrible mistake of trying to pick our way to the KVR through cut blocks. Telegraph trail had loads of trees down and we wanted more skiing for how long we walked. We planned to ski cut blocks and eventually make our way to Little White FSR. Unfortunately, tight trees and all the unmarked roads got us super turned around and our day went from a casual day out to a 13 hour 45km+ epic.
So my question is now, would it be frowned upon for me to skin up from the snow mobile trails off of 33 by Greyback ? access looked easy, and the skiing looked good too
Here is a photo for reference

^Nice lines!
Looks like a great day out, Meggers. I think access from that south/east area would be prevented by a fair bit of bushwhacking as I don't think there is any kind of trail through there. Skied down that area and it is fun, but we skinned back up. Its been a while, though. Amazed how much snow is up there compared to a couple years ago! https://youtu.be/5DLDaurxbOo Exact same time of year.

You make the trail look fun!
Coverage is amazing up there this year. Glad I finally bucked up and checked it out
It's hard to tell in the photo, but the road is plowed right up to the bottom and there were some cars parked there. Might drive up this weekend to check it out.

My Red Mtn/Whitewater trip has turned to a Big Mtn/Fernie trip. Grew up on Big Mtn so I have that covered. But, have never been up to Fernie.
Tips for a good two days of exploring next week? Weather looks to be a sunny spring day. What areas our runs do we absolutely have to hit? Food or bars? (Staying at Lizard Creek)

Headed into Valhallas on 24th w some Coloradans and bozemanites. Thinking about a revy lift serve day on 23rd—if anyone wants to show me and a couple guys around that would be great.
I’ve got the MCP for my ticket; any discounts around for a couple of friends with me besides the $15 off advance online sale?

BC road trip rolls on. So far we have hit SSV, KH, 2 days at Fernie, White Water, 2 great days of spring skiing at Red, and today had a blast at Kimberly.
Main Street Rossland, a cool town with friendly vibe.
Late afternoon sun on this hill was super fun pitch to arc GS turns at the end of the day.
Traffic came to about a 45 minute stop going East over Kootenay pass in the late afternoon Monday afternoon.
Decent sized wet slab came over the highway after heating up in afternoon sun.
Kimberly has some great flowing groomers that were a blast to open up the turn shape and lay down some arcs. That plus the Nor Ams taking place meant there were ripping racers free skiing the hill were cool see.
Kimberly had one of the longer bump runs I’ve skied in a while. Trying to ski this top to bottom non stop was an ass kicker. Fun day at an under the radar ski area.

Anyone able to suggest a place that could potentially have corn this weekend and can be accessed without a sled ?
I'm looking to harvest

Pow above 1600m in the goat range. Below that it’s isothermic and many slides to ground starting to come down with the rain and daytime warning. Tread cautiously at low elevation. Don’t think u will find any corn unless ur at the ski hill

Thinking ahead for next year. Any info on getting discounts for lift tickets at Whitewater and or Red? This year I sold tickets that I had for cheap and gave away 25% of tickets for KH. Anybody have those to trade next year??

Why would they move it up a month? Fuck!! Always wonder why they don’t sell a spring pass too. They lose a lot of $ with people selling their passes and people that would get in the game if they offered the spring pass.

RMR just replied to my complaints about the early bird season pass deadline with this response:-
"We did this early offer to give people an opportunity for spring riding, who do not have a season pass this year but want one for next year. Some people are really happy about this opportunity and are going to benefit greatly from it. Like you, some people are not. You can't please everyone but the resort is trying new ideas that will hopefully be beneficial to most."
My guess is they are trying to limit the numbers buying and trying to use other people's passes.

RMR is also $50 more expensive this year... every season the early bird pass price goes up $25-50 while other resorts stay stable yet... Big White early bird season pass until October 15 is $639... A mountain with 3x as many lifts, night skiing, more in bounds skiiable acres, and on mountain facilities and infrastructure.
Anyway, conditions have been pretty poor for march... mostly just ice with some melty days but little snow for the mountains... All our snow came hard and heavy in Jan/Feb this year with little in Dec and March.

Silver star prices continue to rise, as does vail north. I Suspect Big White is the minority with a price freeze. There is demand for the product they offer and there is zero competition. No one gives a fuck about the bros.
