The major issue for me with SUV's are the tail gates that are to high for old dogs to jump up into. The lower wagon tail gates just work better for your old buddies.

Ironically, that's part of why they're popular with old and/or out of shape people. They prefer the higher seating position and don't care about the compromised handling.

My dog has gotten so old that I always have to pick him up. Kind of a bummer.

the slope of the back window on this and the v90 might be good for styling, but when we looked at the v90 cc it seriously limits room in behind the back seats. This also looks like it has a pretty large blind spot with the back pillar thing

Does it even matter nowadays when pretty much every car has blind spot detection?

Yes. There are several stop signs in my area where the crossroad is at a sharp angle rather than a 90 and in my BRZ I can't see a thing because of the pillar so I have to open the window and listen. Letting the clutch out at one of them is a serious leap of faith

Kudos to that lady. Volvo is killing it with design, especially interiors, lately.

+1 on whoever said something about the rear windshield. Parked the wife's 15 XC70 next to a new V90XC and the first thing you notice (aside from how sharp the new XC looks) is the cargo area - most notably how much bigger the outgoing model's is thanks to that straight glass.
I still call it The Jake.

The S40 almost looks like the modern Camaro.

The XC40 reminds me of the Jeep Renegade but much nicer.

The side mirror on the XC40 is evidently some kinda curling iron, you think?

Or maybe some kind of lighted window wiper for the driver side window???

Or did Volvo use the top-secret research data from the Philadelphia Chair Experiment to make a disappearing side mirror?

One of the local Volvo dealers contacted me the other day, they need sales help so I'm going in to talk to them this afternoon. Are they as bad to work for as I'm hearing most car dealers are or is it a better environment?

There's a new v90 wagon around my area and everytime I see it makes me want one. It looks fricken awesome.

Shitty pic but extra cred for being dirty, sporting a roof box and in ski area parking lot??. Click image for larger version.
