Had a great day mind bogglingly high at the gelande in snowbowl cruising in the sun, runs to myself, listening to supertramp live in Paris. A time and place for everything I guess.

I go with BB's style now. Speakers on low in the helmet.

I wear an earbud in one ear on the slopes, nothing when touring.

    Skiing with headphones

Do you guys find that you ski better with or without music?

Say you're shreddin' alone, about to rip a bump line under the chair.. Show everyone who really is the best skier on the mountain..

Do you slay it harder with or without the music?

Better with. I get some bumping beats going and I'll ski 100x better. Or at least I feel like I do....I'll certainly ski further down that bump line before backing off. Same goes for working out, I'll run faster and further with some good tunes.

I ski with my skull candy ear pad speakers but they go off on the lift and if I'm somewhere that's super busy or I'll likely need to talk to or hear someone. They also don't come in the BC, though climbing a long slog would be easier with tunes.

I know some people enjoy the solitude but I thrive on music and I have a sweet ski movie soundtrack playlist on spotify so I can ski around and basically relive every ski movie scene I've ever loved
Sometimes it's the best thing to do a few solo laps with a good playlist
Not blasting it and as others have mentioned it's so easy to turn the music on and off. Most of you are probably never noticed your music obsessed friend had it on bc it's so subtle- but I recognize that there are some assholes out there that blast their music and are unaware- but I have to assume that they would also be clueless even without the music. \_(ツ)_/

I know I shouldn't be surprised that other people do this too, but there are reasons why I love this place.

I enjoy either some am talk radio, or the weather band.
Talk radio so it seems like I have ski friends and weather band just to make sure I know what the conditions are.

Man, for as much music as I listen to part of me thinks I'd really dig skiing to music inbounds (only if skiing solo). But...I still never have tried it. I guess I could turn 'em off on the lift, but the art of small talk on the lift ride is dying much like it is in general public with people locked on their phones. I guess I never really realized how much fun "speed dating" new potential friends can be, if only for a few minutes of "Where you from?".

B/C...absolutely never. Ever. Defeats the purpose of getting out in nature, and man, I wanna hear what's going on around me safety-wise. No plans of ever changing this.

    Every chairlift conversation is basically the same, with two variations;

Local: reminisce about previously good conditions, while complaining about current ones

Tourist: loves the marginal conditions, wants to talk about my "powder" skis.

Or... "so whereabouts in Australia are you from?"

Introvert. Solo female skier. Audio helmet, love skiing with tunes at the resort. No music in the backcountry, duh. (Do people really do this?)

I keep my music loud on the lift because I don't want to talk to most anybody and listen to stupid convos, screaming kids, whiny wives, etc. I judge them before loading, obviously. If it's a local or someone of interest, I *may* turn the volume down to get a better read. I really don't care if you think I'm rude, but I am here not to meet people. Deal with it. I turn volume down when I ski. I can hear you talk, but I can also still jam. Music is a part of my life, just like skiing. Enjoying both at the same time is my bliss, naysayers be damned.

Night skiing- I admittedly crank the tunes, there's no one else around! And so much fun. I may even have a <gasp> hot toddy before loading the chair.
