Air Quality = shitty
ugh... sooooo smokey here! I can barely see my horses out in their pastures. The appaloosa is almost camouflaged (he's a strawberry roan - mostly white). When the sun does manage to filter through the dense smoke it bathes everything in an eerie orange light. Half mile visibility. Eyes burning.

It is fucking shocking how bad it is in North Bend. At 6:30 this morning it was 87 degrees, strong, hot wind, ash, thickest smoke I've ever seen in my neighborhood by a lot. It was pretty damn alarming because I've never been in anything like this before and thought there must be a fire very, very close for it to be this bad. Nope, this is all coming from the Cle Elum fires, among others.
We need rain badly. A long, cool, soaking rain. Shit is fucked up out there.

Central Oregon has been going thru this for weeks. Particulate levels have been averaging 150+ for last several days in beautiful metropolitan Sisters, and above 100 prior.
Sunday, got into a vehicle that sits outside, hadn't moved it in several days. Opened door, closed it, and I was immediately enveloped in a snow globe of ash - like somebody pointed a leaf blower at a fire pit
Kinda feels like this
Particulate Levels declined markedly today - mid 40's on the ppm scale. Which is good because it's touch and go whether the Folk Festival will be cancelled this year. Cycle Oregon already cancelled, which means our bike park project is out $2,000 for serving the riders lunch.

Is this the new normal?
seems like every summer of the last five years has been smoke-filled at some point. I check airnow.gov daily now that I live in SLC and it seems like the northwest has been in the red all summer, this morning, parts of it are in the purple. super shitty. I read this article yesterday and I certainly found it interesting....

So tell W2 Cannabis Company and The Weedery to quit smoking all their product before they sell it.
At this point Andrae's doesn't even need to use his smoker for meats, just put the slab's out in the Cenex parking lot and it'll cure...

The Eagle Creek fire is really devastating the Gorge area in Oregon. Took a fire crew surrounding the Multnomah Falls Lodge to keep the building from getting torched. Check out this time lapse of the fire taken from the Washington side of the Columbia River.
And allegedly it was started by a couple numb-nut teenagers setting off fire crackers on the Eagle Creek Trail.
