    yikes!

From space, these Caribbean islands were green. Irma turned them brown.

NASA tweeted out side-by-side images of the Caribbean on Aug. 25 and Sept. 10 — before and after Irma hit. The images were captured by the Operational Land Imager on the Landsat 8 satellite.

Before, the islands are a bright green. After, they're a dull brown color:

The ocean was dirty mop water before Irma, nice and blue after. She also took care of some weeding on those islands.

It kind of is. Jose was first expected to recurve out to sea south of Bermuda, then it was thought it would do a little jig and then head for Block Island, and now it is doing a full loop and aiming at Mar-al-lago.

I don't know about those CNN people, but the weather channel guys live for that shit. Mike Bettes spent nearly an hour of unbroken reporting in the eye wall in Naples yesterday. Normal people don't do that.

Oh, right. Silly me. You're safe, my bad. Put on a west facing extension. It'll be good, I'm sure.
Florida should change its building codes so that all large, unprotected windows face west. Problem solved! Make another drink and enjoy the sunset.

Can I say it one last time....JUST FUCKING STOP!

All safe and sound in and around Sarasota. Once it came ashore in Marco i knew we were good to go. Classic pattern once it makes landfall.

Anyone you haven't heard from is fine. Our power has been out since 8pm last night. Generator running the fridge and freezer. Beautiful day today 81 with a westerly breeze. Nice day for chain saw duty!!

Thanks for the love and support Benny. Stay in CT where the living is easy and the children are all above average.

The Bunny is from everywhere... and nowhere... he can be found anywhere there's a chance of a breakfast buffet.

Don't try and tie him down!

Well unless it's a chairlift... then it's probably a good idea.

Yup, here we go. Just stop, leave me alone, and, when the next one hits, there will be a few million more in the path.
Dude, you ain't supposed to be living there. Take a hint. But, yeah, just like in my old neighborhood in Westchester, only the comfortable have generators to keep the beer cold and the internet cruising. Ain't modern life grand.

Mom in Venice is fine. When she returned home this morning, she said her power was on and digital clocks displayed the correct time. It appears she didn't even lose power.

Childhood friend in Naples is OK. He's still without power and indicated he lost a tree.

For the most part, it wasn't as bad as it could've been.
