When my kid was in HS water polo they had a preseason tournament in Reno, stayed at a no tell motel on the fringe of the casino area. As did the coach, who was on his honeymoon. He was lucky the marriage lasted the tournament.
Walk around the casino district of Reno and you will encounter more weird looking people per square yard than anyplace else this side of burning man, or Walmart.

I will report later, but there is a great house in SLT that is known as the bachelor party house, or at least it was in March of 2004, when I was still a ski bum. It is somewhere in SLT, and has an indoor pool. One of my college buddies had a bachelor party there in March of 2004 and it was a blast. The clubs in SLT were also fun, the women there are more into hooking up than the women in Tahoe City, where they are usually there to ski and apres then go home. I will post more details later, but all the cab drivers in SLT knew this house as the bachelor party house.

Bangkok Cuisine on Mt Rose street is my favorite Thai place in Reno. It's at the south end of "midtown," I guess -- not sure how far that marketing label stretches.

    Those are the same people.

If you took out all the skiing and outdoors opportunities (from SLT or Reno), you may as well be in Laughlin.

There was an editorial in RenoNews&Review free paper, complaining of how downtown used to have parks & trees & somewhere to sit (Powning Park).
But all got ripped out for casinos interests.
(Don't want you to go outside.)
    "stark ugly downtown..."

Apparently there is an anti-vagrancy law being proposed. (Political fashions eh?)
Editorial points out nowhere to just sit anyways...

Unless you're needing something like living rooms and kitchens, i'd stay at harveys in SLT, it's cheaper than harrahs but connected; but if you're just going to drink and gamble and can live off whatever is on the buffet or what you put in the hotel fridge; harveys is great.

i'd also suggest taking the shuttle unless you want to get out of SLT. casinos, heavenly and most of what there is to see in SLT is within 4 blocks; including groceries and liquor.

So this thing is happening, I guess, more or less as hoped for. SLT, somewhere. Very open to any suggestions on the non-skiing front as my experience in Tahoe has pretty much been ski, eat, sleep, repeat. I'm sure some of these guys (some pretty much non-skiers) will be up for some other stuff. Fingers crossed for snow.

Funneh. The collective jumped to SLT, I immediately thought of Reno/Rose. I've done the South Lake thing, and I just think I'd rather bach it up in Reno. Better gambling, better women, better food. Silver Legacy has an honest to god steakhouse. Good wine list. Probably can get to Mt Rose without an awd car. I also value the idea of having a cabin up in the woods, skiing and whiskey. That's just a different theme, and SLT splits the line, but does neither well.

And kitchen 19 up at Harrah's makes some good steaks if that's what you're after. Gambling in SLT is just fine, plenty of single/double deck blackjack tables, for example. Shit, half the casinos in Vegas don't even have one of them anymore since people are such suckers.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

    Ok then. Rock on!
Putting in a suggestion for a pretty unique, old school slt thing.
But it'll need some friendly women...
*Rent a private hot-tub at Nepheles*
(Also an Italian Restaurant, specialising in elk, or some such).

Do whatever you want to...mm, hm.
    Open to the sky.
    70's style wood.
They will bring you cocktails if you like.

If y'all go for a cabin/condo then prolly redundant.

See my post upthread. (And, yes, the second photo is the intro scene to midget porn on the projector in the cinema room.)

^^^ I looked for photos of the bodyshots in the hot tub, but apparently don't have any. Here's a couple of a bachelorette party that tried to muscle in on our bottle service at Vex. (No idea what that club is called now.)
