Turns all Year - Colorado
Hi all,
Haven't posted on this site in a long while. We are still getting some turns over in Colorado. I made a few videos about it. Figured some might be interested. Only a couple more months till things start freshening up! - Tim

Here's Mays turns too.
I've got an absolutely sufferfest of a day from June but have not put that footage together yet. Turns out biking to hiking to skinning, is hard. I'll be sure to share that when I reminiscence on it..

Fantastic.
More Summer turns in Colorado than Winter turns in Wales. Well played.

Nice. Skyscraper glacier is pretty fun. Hit that for September turns last year. September is a pretty fun month to ski, as it typically requires travel outside of Utah, and brings us to places we otherwise wouldn't go/ski. This year, timpanogos is still in for September, but I've got better ideas....

I'm in telluride for the next week. What's the best place in the western slope to find snow? I'm willing to drive a few hours.

So, there doesn't seem to be much in the immediate vicinity of Telluride.
I skied this today:
That's about it in Savage Basin:
The turns were not epic but the scenery was.
The coolest thing was that some old ski tracks there were actually higher than the rest of the snow patch. I guess churning up cleaner snow meant that the tracks are melting out slower than the dirtier snow.
There's just a sad little patch in the Alta Lakes area, and a tiny, sadder patch in Gold King Basin.

New snow in Montana has me jealous. Last time I got to ski fresh snow was back in May. So I made a video of it of course. Check it out!
Fresh snow fell in the Colorado's Front Range in late May 2017. We went up towards Heart Lake/ Rogers Pass from Moffat Tunnel -
East Portal. Unfortunately the rapid warming made for poor avalanche conditions and we had to stay down low. Still never a bad time when backcountry skiing fresh tracks on May 21st.

September turns were a little sharp.
I have a good feeling October turns will be much better. Thanks for checking out my videos!

June turns were fun, if not perfectly successful. Sawtooth's North East face skied really well, but we didn't get a chance to make it to the top. Maybe next time. Thanks for checking out the videos.
Assuming I get some turns in next weekend, I will have completed my 1st turns all years!

We did it! Successfully got a turn in every month since last November. I plan to continue this for as long as I can. October was a little dry over here in Colorado. Orginal plan was to go into RMNP and ski off trail ridge if possible. But Friday the road closed for the season and we didn't realize that till we were in the car. So we went back to Saint Vrain Mountain to look for a snow patch. The wind had filled in a small spot for us to get a handful of turns. November should be more plentiful! Thanks for watching.

Thanks both, glad you appreciate it. I've certainly enjoyed it. A great excuse to get out in the mountains regularly.
