My uncle had one of those for when he broke his leg. He said between that and the fentanyl they prescribed him, he didn't feel a thing.

I only broke my right leg not both legs. Although I probably complained enough for 3 broken legs.

I thought women were supposed to have a higher pain threshold than men.

I had a flail chest and pneumo/hemo thorax with a scapula fracture in two places(20% mortality) and didn't complain here at all. Suck it up.

You'll feel a lot better when it doesn't hurt so much.

Fuck off. This is a thread I made about my broken leg. If you don't like it, fuck off. You like to act like you have such a great life, but if you did you would have better things to do than post negative, unhelpful bullshit here.

A non displaced distal fibula fracture is not as serious as a ankle dislocation and has less long term complications. I'm sure there is some discomfort but come on, 'worst pain ever'? Get some perspective.

It's just some friendly, and cogent, advice (from an apparent stranger) that is nonetheless very worth following. Seriously, fuck off.

15 pills for a broken distal fibula--doctor is an asshole. Side effect of the hysteria over opiates right now. Which is real, of course, but is due to docs prescribing large quantities of opiates, especially extended release, for chronic pain. Not ER docs prescribing for fractures. 30 is a bare minimum. Insider tip- Tylenol with codeine is a schedule 3 narcotic, less prescribing restrictions than Vicodin and other hydrocodone compounds, which are schedule 2--the most restrictive legal category. Doc might be willing to prescribe more tylenol#3. How much ibuprofen are you taking? Combination of NSAID and narcotic is excellent, as long as no contraindication to NSAIDS--history of ulcer or bleeding disorder, kidney disease. Assuming none of these you can go to prescription strength with the OTC ibuprofen for a short time without significant risk. I don't know how big you are but up to 1800 mg/d (max dose is 2400/d). Check with your doc of course-this is the internet.

Another fuck off Aaron. People have different pain tolerance and different pain. I broke 3 ribs and took OTC meds. So what? It's not a contest to see how much pain you can tolerate, unless you're being initiated into the Spartan army or some other sick club.

I'm not saying that mtngrl isn't suffering some discomfort but it's not much different than starting a thread about spraining your ankle, only slightly less severe than an ankle sprain. Yes it's a bummer but it's not like suffering a debilitating life threatening/long term injury or cancer. Get a grip.

I just took a couple ibuprofen with the vicadin and it helped and my friend gave me 11 and half left over Vicodin from her broken fibula so I will make it to Monday at least and maybe my regular doctor will give me more or it won't hurt as bad. I think the pain kept getting ahead of the pills because I was trying to conserve.
