Which brings up a pet peeve of mine. You go to the ER with a broken something, they put a splint on it and you get an appointment with an ortho days later. You don't need an ER for that--a Boy Scout will do. Orthopedists are the real prima donnas of the medical world--suck it up and come into the ER to see your patient like everyone else. Maybe it won't make a difference medically but it's an extra visit for the patient, the anxiety of not knowing what's going to happen, extra days off work and play.

That's why I went to the urgent Care at the ortho clinic. It saved me time and money but I did have to wait a few hours until the clinic opened (broke my leg around 1pm the clinic didn't open until 5)

I'm going to the walk in clinic as soon as my friend gets here. They better give me more drugs. This morning it hurt so bad i was crying.

Hang in there. The first week can really suck. My leg hurt so friggin bad that first week but at least they gave you pain pills so that's a plus. They just told me to take Tylenol and that shit didn't take the edge off at all.

Street heroin might be an inexpensive option?!

Seriously though they gave me some of those pills after my knee surgery and they made me sleepless and crazy. I was already under enough stress dealing with my HR department and no sleep ramped up my anxiety. Ibuprofen might not cut the pain as much but it works well for me so I'd rather take that if the pain is remotely manageable.

You can get through this mtngirl. The pain was way worse than I had ever expected but it will get better.

I was fortunate that they put me in an air boot so I was able to ice it and that helped a lot. So if you're able to ice it, do it.

I had a Ice circulator thing I used when I wasn't in a hard cast that was bitch'n. https://www.amazon.com/Polar-Product.../dp/B001ALNM3A . I borrowed one from a guy I worked with that had broken Both legs like Kopi_Red did.
