Bolt dethroned
The king of 100 meters finally lost his crown. Finished 3rd to 2 Americans. An absolutely amazing finish by Gatling to take the world title.

yeah he's been so superior he could get away with it at the highest level in the early rounds and get it together in the later rounds until now.
i was mildly surprised that he didn't quit after the olympics but his attitude after losing is great as far as i have read. i'm sad his time is done but i'm glad he never got busted for doping. i grew up watching olympians at hayward field in the 70s, 80s and 90s and worked two olympic trials, numerous pre classics, numerous national championships. it's stating the obvious but he is the most electrifying sprinter i've ever seen by a mile.

A galvanizing human to be sure. A man of the times Without Really Jumping the Shark. Would love affirmation of his no PED... I'm not steeped enough in the culture to cancel my doubts.
Gatlin should share trophy cases with Carl LewisI am not in your hurry

I'm pretty sure almost every great of the last 20, 30 years has taken some banned PED.

Bolt dethroned
Gatlin said the boos from the stands helped motivate him.
With no times under 9.9, it doesn't look like any dopingLast edited by Elkhound Odin; 08-07-2017 at 06:04 AM.

Any high school/college sprinters here?
What are your best 100 and 200 times?

I was able to go sub-11 in 4x100 relays, but relay times tend to be quicker and less reliable. Starting from the blocks, I probably would've been on the other side of 11.5. I didn't touch the 200 in meets often enough to remember a time because I tended to be a 400m, relay, and field event guy. I was good enough to walk on in college, but I quit during pre-season my freshman year.

Both 100's were awesome. Tori Bowie... wow. Never quit.

They were all like, "whatever else happens, don't finish behind the white girl".

I only ran the 100 if we had guys out. 200 and 400 were my specialties. Don't remember my times, but if "doping" is any measure, I was an Olympic hopeful.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
