Something called bit locker has me in an infinite loop on my old work computer. (Now personal)

It's asking for a recovery key which I clearly don't have.

Any workarounds or hacks or is the machine fried?

Dell latitude e4310 laptop and n series running Intel core I5 windows seven I think, I'm just reading what's on the stickers

Fuck this shit. I backup to an external drive a lot thankfully but of course there's some recent things I'd really like back.

And I'd like to surf TGR with y'all tonight.

    Help

If you haven't figured it out by now you'll clearly see I'm not well versed in the data technologies but I can follow directions really well

    ETA: stupid fucking photo uploader.

Eta2: believe it or not I don't do the porn on this machine or download chain email attachments from Namibia. Use Malwarebytes on the ref too.

    Fuck this. Thanks in advance.

    Yes, yes it is.

Hard reboot many times. Removed battery.

    Ready to toss against wall.

It ran out of juice listening to the mlb.com stream and now this is what I get.

    Thanks a lot Bud Selig.

You need that key. Do the work people have it?

It's an old work computer and the company is no longer in existence. I'm assuming that means I'm fucked?

Bit Locker is a disk encryption utility that encrypts your drive at the root level. Breaking it would be seriously NSA level shit. Without the key, you're hosed. Sorry dude.

Maybe Pio's car was right-side-up the whole time.

Please video any pooter tossing. It would be a ray of sunshine on an otherwise gloomy day.
Obviously I have nothing to offer.

If the maggots can't help out this evening the computer will be tossed into the Ohio River as I drive over it tomorrow morning on my trek up north. Video to follow

Just get a new hard drive...encryption is meant to protect the data not the device.

Did it ever get past this screen or first time booting up?
Is the drive the original from the laptop?

There are a couple different deployment options which in typical ME fashion don't quite make sense..

As said above - if the old employer is gone (e.g no chance of finding the BL key) - time to douche it, put a linux disto on it and use it as a dedicated porn viewer /MLB streamer.

(if turning it right side up didn't work)
