2017 Praxis Skis Info and Resource Thread
My guess is a lot of us bug Keith while waiting for our skis (;
Here's a picture of my mis-pressed Quixotes. One of the cores got flipped. For the new pair I'm going to change how the two praxis logos at the tips are- currently they are black and hard to see.
Looking for suggestions on what to do with the logos because I'm indecisive. My thoughts so far are:
A) make them the normal yellow/mustard color (like the JSK27 logo in the middle)
B) bright orange to match FKS going on them
c) Royal Purple
D) Cobalt Blue

Fed Ex just dropped these off. Nothing that hasn’t been seen before as far as top sheet options. Ibex with Ambrosia. But they sure are pretty.
Skis are 9D’s MAP flex 3. Will be my no new snow snow, ski with the kids ski.I'd rather die while I'm living then live while I'm dead

^^^very nice
Muggy- the black "Praxis" with orange thin orange border outlining the letters would make it pop and not take the eyes of the rest of that top sheet too much. Great mix of veneer and graphic on those ones

Yeah, will probably be a couple of months yet. And still debating mount.
I've had 187 GPOs previously, had those at -1. Skied pretty well, but felt the tail was a bit grabby in crusts etc. Sold because I felt the BGs were better skis at ~115mm. But......they were mounted with Barons, and I've never really liked any ski with Dukes or Barons
Will mount these with KP13, for winter touring and traveling with only one ski. Probably will care more about good snow than bad snow performance.

Hi guys, looking for an advice on Praxis skis
I've read lots of topics, reviews and all that stuff but still undecided. I want to add a lightweight winter touring ski to my quiver and I terribly want veneer. My go to ski for last couple of years was moment bibby 190 but some days it's just too wide and heavy, so ideally I want something that skis close to bibby but 108-112 underfoot and 185-187cm long. I'm 5'10 and 155, have a park background, ski in neutral stance, prefer to mount skis closer to center. I don't charge really hard, I prefer medium speeds and always looking for jumps and spins. Currently thinking of UL MVPs or skinny UL Quixote. Any other options or ideas?

Even though it's a touring ski, don't go UL. Get the middleweight layup.
Center stance/park orientation.
Lots of tail rocker, but I'd seriously consider a 183 or 187 MVP.
More playful charge - skinny GPO (106mm) skinny ullr (113mm)
Skinny Quixote seems like a bit of a wild card until the reviews come in.
Skinny RX isn't really a neutral stance ski.
BC would probably be a good ski for this, but no goldilocks length.wait!!!! waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait...Wait!

I find Praxis mounts to be generally too centered for me. I moved my 106 RX mount back 1.5cm. Admittedly, mine are intentionally short skis, which left very little in front of the boot at the recommended mount.
Wouldn't recommend the skinny RX for a playful jibby ski. It is a traditional ski, a bit like going back 7 years in ski geometry (including larger radius) and not caring a damn about it while doing a good job on snow.Life is not lift served.
