I had a cocktail a couple months ago with torched Rosemary and gin. It was pretty damn tasty

We did crushed thyme g&t last week too. Having a cocktail out on the deck in the evening breezes is just the height of civilization.

    Pour gin.
Say a prayer for the missing tonic.
    Drink.

Or so an old roommate used to tell me.

While not a G&T I feel this is as appropriate a place as any to share that I had several frozen negronis out of a slushee machine while ambling down the Beltline multiuse path this Sunday.

    They were most excellent.

I've made this one at home and it is dangerously good, and not as sweet as I expected: https://www.jeffreymorgenthaler.com/blended-negroni/

All the Botanist disappeared from around here. I'm back to the Hendricks or Tanqueray with the sporadic thyme or rosemary crush.

Here’s some piss in your Cheerios.

I come home after a LONG day and pour myself a very tall, very cold Beefeater and tonic.

I take a big ol pull once situated in my chair outside, baseball on the radio.

Hmm, that’s good but maybe that BLT I had for dinner is still lingering on the palette too much.

I make it about 1/4 through and I’m like something’s off here. I go inside and check. Yep, motherfucking DIET White Rock tonic - complete with the nearly invisible “diet” label.

Down the drain it went. Back to the store I went. No White Rock regular in stock so I grab some Schweppes, cause it’s still in little glass bottles and Canada Dry isn’t, and because I didn’t feel like buying Fever Tree and blowing another $8 on tonic today.

Finally back in the drivers seat, but now the ball game is over, it’s 45 minutes later and now I’ll probably have to have 2 to fix this mess.
I still call it The Jake.

The whole point of White Rock tonic is that it is made using cane sugar and not HFCS. So why the fuck would they even bother making a diet?

And the label. Fuck the designer who made that label.

My MIL got diet tonic when we were in Cabo for Xmas... I didn't have the heart to tell her it was an abominable crime against nature.

So it's settled then; as much as we may squabble over our G&T ingredients, the one absolutely sacrosanct truth is that we never, ever even allow the word "diet" to be used in any G&T discussion

Rumor has it the mother ship factory for "diet" shit is in Area 51; fuck the stormin' we be nukin'

Different, but in a good way. Interesting flavor profile/unique botanicals but not too perfumey.

    Distilled in Bend apparently.

Had some of this just recently because the LLS was out of The Botanist. I loved it, a really distinct and pleasant flavor. Terrific for martinis.
    Don’t give up until.
