Went out with a couple buddies and what is turning into an annual trip for us. Can't beat the scenery and solitude out here. Plus t-bones on the grill and a hot spring 20 feet from the camp fire are pretty cool too.

Bump because I'm selling my 100. It's built up, solid as a rock and the tits. Let me know if you're interested.

62 with an LM7? Sounds like a whole lot of fun. What's the rest of the drivetrain?

Let me know how real it gets. Next time I replace shocks, I'm looking at all the bypass options...Icon, the new OME, Kings, Foxes... I heat up my Ls pretty bad in the desert.

Anything is going to be better than 15 year old OME shocks that leak, are rusty and have broken shock bushings

Nice, LS. You'll like em. I would post a pic of the 62 but the forum won't let me from my tablet. It's a beaut, Clark. Put 320 miles on it today and got 20.5mpg via GPS. Not bad for a 6k brick on 33's! Definitely needs some love... Lots of little things to fix and add, but I'm pretty stoked overall.

    What's the motor/trans combo?

I would find it impossible to believe a 2F could get 20mpg. Even a FI 350.

Vortec 5.3 and 4L60 tuned with goodies, doing 65 behind my wife in the truck. Not that difficult. I lost a $50 bet that my buddy's Chevy with the same drivetrain really and truly would get 22mpg on a 200 mile stretch we drive routinely. Sat in the passenger seat with the GPS, did the fill and fill, them paid him $50.

Fox shocks are totally worth it, not saying it became a ford raptor but damn it eats washboard for lunch now.

Thanks buddy--driving it is a dream in that it's a classic iron pig with a fast, smooth, efficient drivetrain. It definitely needs some work and has plenty of room for improvement, which is perfect. Jump started the process by having my mechanic do the knuckles (and tie rods while he was there). After that, there's enough little things and general PM for me to do to keep me busy for a while: Transmission linkage is sloppy; stereo has no power; rear lift struts are toast (ordered); rear passenger window actuator; upholstery is clean but there's a serious tear in the driver's seat; rear tail gate has some cancer; needs a winch; PO painted everything monochromatically and I've ordered some used door handles and mirrors--will sand and paint the grille; front driveline is a little too close to the 4L60e for comfort so I'll have one built with a smaller diameter; 4runner caliper conversion; locking center console, etc. etc. etc.

Sorry if this is a jack of the thread, but considering a 2000 model year 100 series with 200K+ miles in what looks to be very good condition. CA owned most of its life, no rust, new suspension, new brakes, no electrical issues, recent timing belt, AC blows cold. Was looking for a 2001-2004 model year (long story) but this one looks better than anythIng I’ve seen in the past year. What else should I be asking about / looking for? Thanks!

I just bought a 99 with 215k on it. I also was looking for a little newer one, but this one was too nice. And it had good records. At 200k plus, you need to know when the last timing belt change was. If no record, you need to plan on doing it. Timing belt goes, engine goes. Heater "T"s get brittle and can leave you stranded. Check if replaced. Fluid changes for the trans are good to have, prolong the life of the transmission at higher mileage. Maintenance history is really what you are after with a higher mileage one. How does the transmission shift? Low 4wd work ok? Rear locker solenoid?
Mine had records of two transmission services, and a timing belt job at 190k, as well as the brake master cylinder replaced, and a few of the ignition coils. Look for oem Toyota replacement parts where work was done.
