I thought the 62 was a 5 speed as well as fuel injected. I'm getting used to the faulty memory thing

    Fuck yeah they were. I had a 70 and a 76. The 70 with 3 speed was a tank.

Day 4 of picking random parts off the 80 series at the junkyard. I think I'm finally done. Just been grabbing nuts and brackets recently since the junker is rust free.

Nice. Just started searching for an antenna motor.

Yeah, there was a run of LX/100 series transmissions with bad clutch packs, and they fail prematurely. Happened on my 2000 LX470. Look it up on mud.

Are you sure it's the motor and not a broken plastic drive cable? It's more common in the plastic drive cable breaks.

Yeah and it's an easy fix if you have little arms. If not, wear a long sleeve shirt.

So this happened last month. Always wanted one.

Currently undergoing PM (heater hose, well pretty much all hoses, heater control valve, distributor o ring, birfield service, trans flush, etc…)

Current non working items- Seat front back movement, antenna up/down, rear door lock, heater won’t turn off, no enguaging 4 lo on the trans case (so no locker testing yet)

Chipping away slowly, looking forward to having it up and running.

Dope! I have a hand full of spare OEM parts including relays and modules if you need them. Headed back to pick and pull tomorrow to get a few more tidbits so let me know if you need anything. It's a 1994 so not all parts match yours.

Gamivetti makes the plastic gears to make your seats work again. They have a video on how to install them too. Make sure you soak them in boiling water for a few minutes before install to soften them up otherwise they'll crack. The whole process isn't hard if you have basic hand tools.

    https://youtu.be/6z5wvUt6YVU

For the antenna, the plastic drive cable brakes inside the motor housing. The motors usually fine. I usually replace the mast and the plastic drive cable. Again not hard to do their videos out there for it.

Another thing to look out for that doesn't really show itself is I have opened up several engines that had the cam chain guide plastic separate from the cam chain guide and was sitting up underneath the valve cover. Not doing any damage, yet, but the cam chain was riding on the metal of the guide as opposed to the plastic.

Changing out that guide requires taking off the front of the engine so it's a PITA.

Also look around your oil pump on the front left corner of the engine as there is an o-ring in there that goes bad and starts weeping oil, that's not a hard fix either.
