yesterday, i went running instead of biking.... that never happens with skiing.

yep, I will travel an hour + to ski. I thought that would be the same for biking but sadly it's not. for me a big part of biking is having good trails to ride. at this point in my life I just can't get stoked to ride XC, I'd rather step out my door and go for a run than drive an hour to ride XC trails. on the other hand I'd probably drive an hour to ski a shitty PA hill, luckily for me it's only half that.

What did you break on your bike? Broken bike or getting chased by a dangerous animal is the only reason to run, ever. And a few years back, during the worst of the Tahoe drought, I did some hiking on the PCT in January (because my bike was broken). Wouldn't be surprised if I was the first person to ever hike that in sneakers mid-winter. But never went for a run due to lack of dirt.
