    Filters for the Solar Eclipse

    How's this?
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...se_filter.html

    I'll be using a D7100, Nikkor 55-300DX f5.6 with a doubler

Would one want to use a polarizing filter too?

Anything rated for solar photos should be fine. No reason to pair it with a polarizing filter though.

I got a couple filters from here: http://thousandoaksoptical.com/products/solar-filters/

They sell both threaded filters for camera lenses and "sleeve" filters for optics w/o filter threads, like a spotting scope.

I bought a threaded 95mm filter for my Tamron 150-600 lens and S-4250 for the spotting scope.

Whatever you do, I would order ASAP. When I ordered mine a month ago, they were already running 3 weeks behind.

If any of you western guys have Canon filters that you want to get rid of after this year's eclipse, please let me know. I'm already prepping for the 2024 eclipse that is supposed to pass over me here in New England.

77mm would work for my 70-200 lens.

Sent from my HTC6545LVW using TGR Forums mobile app
