Exactly, and not in a good way.
Go further East
everyone wants different things in life. If I had to live on that side of the hill. I would be looking at the smaller hamlets Between Auburn and Colfax North of 80. I have puttered around the area a good bit. It's developing pretty fast. But? I don't like cities generally.Own your fail. ~Jer~

What's your price range? Lived in Rocklin for a while, suburbia but better than Roseville. Old Granite bay or up toward Auburn as noted don't feel so cookie cutter.

Have friends in Granite Bay. More "upscale" suburbia (for Roseville area) for better or worse.

state of Jefferson

I don't know what your political persuasion is but most folks like living around people who think like them. Nevada County is an exception in the foothills--went for Hillary but very close. Lots of old hippies in Nevada City and in the boonies, lots of rednecks in Grass Valley and the boonies. Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay are in Placer County.Last edited by old goat; 07-05-2017 at 01:24 PM.

Looking for rentals in the $1500-2500 price range. Could go higher but doesn't seem necessary. I hate to throw money into rent but not going to buy immediately.

Sac used to have some good strip joints....Or so I've been told.
"Have you ever seen a monk get wildly fucked by a bunch of teenage girls?" "No" "Then forget the monastery."
"You ever hear of a little show called branded? Arthur Digby Sellers wrote 156 episodes. Not exactly a lightweight." Walter Sobcheck.
"I didn't have a grandfather on the board of some fancy college. Key word being was. Did he touch the Filipino exchange student? Did he not touch the Filipino exchange student? I don't know Brooke, I wasn't there."

Lots of truth here ^^^
Related NYT article below.
If you move to rocklin, consider running for assembly and kicking that kid out!
NV County just went through a registered voter political shift that occurred because a county marijuana ordinance. Peeps rocked the vote! Per capita, there's an unusually strong support for the arts in western Nevada county. Also, lots of anti vaxxers and violent crime. And the south yuba is swimmable (finally!).

Nevada County is also the whitest county in the state--despite a large Latino population in Truckee.

Having lived in very diverse areas my whole life, that's been a big challenge. Especially when it comes to raising our kids.

I went to one in 2001 that had some surprisingly hot girls. It was better than I expected. Not Vegas level, but some hot college girls. I have not been in a while so things might have changed.

Probably nothing has changed. Probably the same girls. Probably not so hot anymore 16 years later.

Surprisingly enough I would say the girls in the sac strip joints I saw were about as hot overall as the girls in the Santa Barbara strip joints when I was in college. You would expect Santa Barbara to have hot strippers, given how hot the overall population is there, but that was not generally the case. Orange County is the same way, although there the issue is that most of the really hot strippers go to Vegas for the weekend to dance. If you fly Southwest on a Thursday night out of John Wayne you will usually find some strippers.

Sacramento was recently voted to have the ugliest people in America and another magazine decided it has the worst drivers.
On a marginally related note, there is no nude beach on Lake Tahoe where the topless dancers from the casinos hang out, contrary to popular belief. So one more negative about Sacramento.

I will agree about the topless beach in Tahoe. When I lived there, late 90's early 00's, we constantly searched for that beach. I heard from lots of sources that the Reno strippers hung out naked there. We never found it, and believe me we would have. We tried. For the record I have never found a good nude beach. If there is one out there people should publicize it.

I live in Sac and really like it. Great food, beer and very livable. A shit ton of stuff to do 1-3 hour drive, City, Mountains, Rivers, Yosemite etc. Anything east of East sac gets pretty suburbia until the foothills then it gets a little weird.

Anyone buy beef pork etc straight from the ranch / farm in that area?
Also if anyone has an open spot for a couple in a ski share / rental we are looking. Going with the Squaw / Alpine pass, so looking at Truckee, to Tahoe City area.

So. I'm going back to the late 80's early 90s. "jane" my then work buddy (we were working at one of the national CPA firms) (who I secretly had the hots for) (tho we were both engaged at the time), tells me about going on her honeymoon to greek ilses. She's at a totally nude beach, totally nude, swiming along, hears "jane, is that you?" old high school bud. Guy.
"Can't you see..."
