If you haven't had one so hot off the line it disintegrates in your mouth you don't know what you're missing.

You're a day early so expect some funny looks if you walk in asking for a free doughnut. Hots off the line are no joke.

krispy crème came down to Houston thinking they could takeover the donut market that has been held by Shipley's for years, krispy crème shut their store down near me within a year.

There's not a lot that's good about Houston, but Shipley's donuts are just about unbeatable as far as donuts are concerned.

They did the same thing in the northeast trying to compete with Dunkin' thinking that market was about the doughnuts when it is really about the coffee. KK still has the best glazed.

A high school friend opened a donut place in Portland, Maine called Holy Donut that's pretty awesome if you're into cake donuts (the denser, more cake-like ones - not the light, airy yeast donuts that melt in your mouth). They use mashed potatoes in the dough, which makes them moister - you don't actually taste the potato. Super tasty.

Those look great but sound dense enough to put out a car window after a day or so.

Fuck Krispy Kreme. Their donuts suck ass. Overhyped assembly line product.

Top Pot crushes them and gets extra points for spancering BBI with ten dozen fancy donuts. The hudge pink ones with the mountain of coconut flakes were my favorite. I see them in the display in Bob's pic! The Pink Feather Boa.

Best donut in my hood goes to Larry & Kristy's Bakery, with a close second at Sluy's. Might have to get one today.

    Blasphemer.

There's an entire rainbow of donuts out there. From fancy to fucked. Who are we to judge?

Banbury Cross in SLC are much better than those shitty Krispy Kreme's. Their glazed always leave some wired film in my mouth.

Meh, I'm a simple man - glazed yeast donut and I'm happy. But I'll concede that cake donuts are better for dipping in coffee (or dunkin', as it were).

I got an email from Delta yesterday. Free doughnut day at Banbury Cross for AmEx air mile card holders August 4-5.

Also: a yeast doughnut can be fine, but Krispy Kreme is too greasy.
