Looking for input on CDT

Looking to hike along the CDT this summer for about a week. Living in Boulder, I was thinking of starting up near steamboat/Rabbit Ears Pass and walking south til I'm west of Nederland.

Other suggestions? Experience/Input is appreciated

Also debating on portion of the CT thru the Buena Vista - Summit County area

Solo or group?
My first choice for about a week trek would be across the Weminuche. You can combine local trails, CDT and CT.
We're talking about an 85 mile, 8 day trip starting from the Elk Park train stop all the way to Wolf Creek Pass area.

Small group. As of now, one girlfriend of mine, absolute goat of a hiker, is interested. Possibly solo if scheduling gets difficult. Thank you, I'll check that out.
