and now for something completely different:
Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it's in dying that we are born to eternal life
Amen

09-19-2019, 06:53 AM #1756It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I've never been, so I'm definitely speaking out of turn, but: I'm guessing those rules are a bit like the small print on most tickets: 80% of the people don't ever read and the other 19.98% make it through the first two lines. (The .02% are the ones who read it...after the lawsuit is filed).
I'm also guessing that most people, as with most festivals, choose their behavior based on the amount of alcohol/drugs they've taken.
Happy to be told I'm wrong though. It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

Oh my fucking God.
You just said that respecting others in a place/at an event that's whole platform is based around respect is just small print intended to be ignored.
Are you fucking kidding me?
This is why this shit pisses me off so bad.
Peoples bodies are theirs. Not yours. Their own and everything they do or wear or dont wear is not always about sex.
There are reasons women might want to walk around topless that arent about sex. It sucks to be sexualized all the fucking time when you dont want to be.
One fucking thing... fucking respect people before you make them subjects of your photography but to you, posting pictures so you look cool on the internet is more important.
Fuck you.

If this is going to continue, I propose we change the name of this thread to TGR Hr in Review.

Isn’t HR basically the same guy who plugs the server closet box fan in every morning?
I still call it The Jake.

Everyone too delirious to notice.
More of a party all the time guy, myself.
This thread makes me realize there's metric shit-ton of stuff I missed on TGR. Not sure if it merits spending the time to read up on Pio's doxing or deleted threads.
I will say I'm surprised anyone here would go sockless loafer toolbag look. TGR needs a (wannabe?) yacht club subforum.
[//quote]

I believe we still have the socially acceptable democratic ability to vote people off the island.

I think it's still true that unless someone is being forced against their will people don't have an expectation of privacy when in public. Doesn't mean people aren't dicks sometimes for what they choose to do w photos, but there isn't an expectation of privacy at public events.
Some cringe-worthy reactions and attitudes toward women around here, but as usual she is shooting herself in the foot and making it way too easy to ridicule her poorly argued points (to start, making it all less about her would help).
[//quote]

Yeah, I actually was going to say I think the sockless loafer faux pas is a step down from sockless Topsiders, but I feel like I haven't even come across anyone wearing Topsiders since the 1990's.
This has to be the whitest thread in the history of the intrawebz.
[//quote]
