The comments are pretty crazy in the article. Cyclists strike a weird guttural hate from a certain sector of the population. White middle class privilege hate I guess.
Prolly someone on a deck or front lawn doing some target practice on things going by.

The hate comes from being in the line stacking up behind a spandex clad asshole going 30 or more mph under the speed limit on a double yellow line road who does not follow the law and pull over to allow the 20 plus vehicles behind him pass...

It's just salt in the wounds for the people working or going to or from work or being made late when the dude is riding a bike worth more than most of their cars...

They shouldn't be shot for it, but it sure seems like it's not that hard to see the obvious...

You must have been delayed so long while having to share the road. Did you actually have to apologize for being late to where you were going because you were stuck behind a cyclist? Ever?

I get it though - when I see someone in a nice Ferrari the first thing I think of is that asshole is inconveniencing me because I have to look at their car I can't afford so I'm going to go home and beat the dog.

In WA, if you're impeding more than 5 vehicles by slow speed and there is no safe passing opportunity, you're required to pull over at the next safe place to do so.
