Rick Mercer is in Kelowna the last few days, my wife has seen him a few times. Apparently he's a munchkin, about 5'5".

This week in Canada, it turns out that the white salad-hating cat of many memes is actually a cat from Ottawa named Smudge:

"... Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey

Interesting side note to the story. The original toe was stolen, so an arctic explorer who knew about the drink/bar (and had a wee frostbite mishap) donated one of his used toes to the bar. After a while he eventually managed to make it back to Canada and to the bar. He then became the first person to have the drink with his own toe.

Feces tossed at students in York, University of Toronto libraries

Let’s hope feces flinging is not becoming a trend.
Toronto Police are investigation two separate reports of someone dumping urine and fecal matter at university libraries: One Friday afternoon at the University of Toronto’s Robarts Research Library on St. George St., and a similar crime on Sunday afternoon at Scott Library, on Keele St. at York University.
In both instances, the perpetrator was male.
Okay, ... which one of you was this?

We're up to our third poop bucket attack here. Asian students seem to be the target.

The NBA (National Bucket Association) is already trying to get their message out - "Now is not the time to start promoting stricter Bucket control laws".

Jeebus H Christmas, that seems over engineered and I am sure clever folks have tied their beverages in a sack underwater for years before this came along. The name is perfect though. What kind of dipstick let's their beer freeze?

Totally. It's innovative but when you're fishing on a frozen lake it's not too hard to keep your beverages cold.

Did anybody else notice something missing from the description of the perp, with a very clear picture attached.

"Police have released an image of a suspect, described as a man believed to be in his 20s, with a medium build, who was wearing a black hat, blue top, light-coloured pants and black gloves."

He is clearly a black man, but it doesn't say that in the description, undoubtedly due to fear of sounding racist. I just thought it unusual as most times they will specify a black person when it has no relevance at all what color/race. Here it is a description of somebody wanted for a crime and they only list what he was wearing.

What I want to know is how they can tell the difference between the shit this guy is throwing at people and the shit they're being "taught" at the schools that have been attacked, especially York. When is he going to hit Ryerson?

PSA: Nationwide testing of emergency alert system on cellphones, radio and TV stations today

    https://nationalpost.com/news/canada...ions-today/amp

Wireless devices, radio and TV stations will issue emergency messages today, but there isn’t anything to be alarmed about.
The squawky signals from provincial and territorial emergency management systems across the country — except in Nunavut — will be transmitted to test the national public alert system.
The alerts are designed to warn of imminent threats or emergencies, such as floods, tornadoes, fires or Amber Alerts.
Depending on where you live, the tests will be conducted mid-morning or early afternoon.
