Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter
These guys just fucking killed it. So influential and so unnoticed generally. They were a pair much of the time. Worked together to make bands better. Lou Reed. Alice Cooper. Aerosmith. Kiss. Many more.
Talk about iconic guitar:
with Alice:
With Aerosmith (best Aerosmith album by far and no wonder)
lots more out there including
(tough to like but wait for the guitars)
Dick Wagner's band The Frost:
Steve Hunter:
These guys' fingerprints are all over rock and roll as we know it and pretty much nobody knows who they are. Which is maybe how they wanted it. But hey fuck that.Last edited by iceman; 05-06-2017 at 01:26 PM.

So this was formative for me. Also the Velvet version, so spare and tight but the Wagmer/Huner combo kills it here. The brief Hunter lead after the first verse....so right.
Then they open it up a couple verses later.
"My life was saved by Rock and Roll" fuckin A it was. 4:20 for the win, appropriately.
