thanks for a great weekend, Got a lap in on warm springs, and a second lap on overwich, but due to some unluckly shuttles and lots of extra pickups, I missed the 3:00 cut off.
was a great weekend, and I'll be back again (for 3 laps, or 2 on my single speed)

Good to meet you. What'd you think of overwich?

thanks good to meet you too.
Was very smooth on the first section down, and after the short hiking some boulders that needed min speed to get thru. VERY cool contrast to warm springs, and was a great 2nd lap
kinda bummed I didn't get Porcupine Creek Trail, but save that for next time. (or do 2 laps and bring my single speed, or skibee)

nope: started pedaling 8:30, and had to wait for both my shuttles for 25 and 35 minutes.. so arrived after lap 2 at 3:05. They asked people not to start a lap after 3:00
so I needed to be 5 min faster on each lap to make it happen this year, and I'm slower and fatter right now.

A great little event, too bad it did not get the attendance it deserves. Trail have a feeling of being way back there while still being close enough to make it out safely by the end of the day. Only ran into people on the trails at the beginning and end where routes came together. Good food, beer, music, and people to finish off the day. Cheers to those who can do three laps. 1 is plenty, two made for a hardy day.

Yeah it was a blast! Also felt kinda bad about attendance. My buddies did overwich last year so we just did a lazy ridge lap which was fun especially with the smoke cleared out and a nice cool breeze. I'd imagine I prob ran into a mag or two. Also shuttle rig no likey new sram cranks haha.Attachment 245207

A great weekend at Lost Trail Bike Fest
2 laps. 70km/48 miles 5:15 ride time, 4300 ft climbing, 11000ft descending. Got back to parking lot at 2:50 and they close the road up at 3:00 not sure if that is good or bad for me, but had a shower, nap and beer rather than a 3rd lap
Lots of bikes, plaid, puppies, carharts, alpine single track, and good times. Not a machine built berm in sight and people STILL had fun.
Thanks for a great weekend Bitterroot Backcountry Cyclists

8/24/19 this year. I heard they lost money last year and waffled on doing it again or taking a year off. That means you need to sign up and go. Cheaper registration through 5/31:

Reading thru their website, this has several ride options starting at the ski area and then mostly downhill to get shuttled back to the ski area. Correct?
Can you get multiple rides/runs in one day? Distances are long(ish), but seems possible to get 2, maybe 3 if you hustle.
Seems like a good time - I'll be moved back by mid-June, hopefully sorted out to register by 7/1

From the parking lot, it's a ~20 minute climb to the ridge. From there, it's a rolling descent. It varies a bit depending on which route you take down, but each lap ends up being around 1700 feet of climbing and 4000 feet of descending over 20ish miles.
Vans pick you up and shuttle back to the parking lot.
2 laps is pretty easy to pull off. 3 laps is do-able, but you have to get a moderately early start and not screw around much.
It's a good time, and the money definitely goes to a good cause.

Yes, and you can camp the night before if you want, too. Last year we went the day before and did a decent* ride off to the south into Idaho that we self-shuttled. There are also some other rides on the east side of LT pass off of Chief Joseph Pass that look pretty interesting.
We wanted to do a different one but weren't sure if it was clear. Turned out it was and we screwed up slightly.

We did CDT to Tolan Ridge a couple years ago. Mostly rideable, and not too many trees down, but I probably wouldn't do it again. The CDT portions aren't all that interesting, and the descent was mostly doubletrack (although there were some super rocky sections that were pretty fun). If you do it as part of the shuttle fest, keep in mind that it takes quite a bit longer than the options on Warm Springs side.

I rode Warm Springs last summer the weekend after ShuttleFest (thanks for all the work BTW) and was very impressed at how undownhilly the descent was.
It was great riding but it was most definitely a ride and not a descent. 3 Laps would be a helluva feat unless you manage a self shuttle for lap 3.
It's a good time, and the money definitely goes to a good cause.

For sure, but Warm Springs proper also has the most climbing of any of the rides.
