No GOTOS. I should probably make sure that is real mud and not decals.

Wasn’t sure if this should go here or in the wildlife thread, but finally found one in the wild.

This is the brown-topped Karen, which is slightly less dangerous than the blond-topped. Still best practice to have a manager on hand for safety purposes.

Ice chest was full of ice cold cokes for quick passes through check points.

Baja travel tip from back in the day - you kept an ice chest full of iced down coca colas right there at the back hatch. When you got stopped at check points and they wanted to look through your rig for droogas and armas and playboys, the first thing they would go into was the ice chest. When they saw the ice cold cokes, of course they would ask for one. You'd hand them out to all the poor kids manning the checkpoint in the middle of the broiling desert and they'd wave you through the checkpoint with huge smiles.

I swear you could smuggle anything you want into baja with an ice chest full of cokes.

Jesus, look at the chollas waiting to implant themselves in your leg or the sidewall of your tire.

My old fj60 took me all over Colorado until I rolled it sideways off a highway embankment in the snow. I remember the phone call to my wife, are you hurt? no. So does this mean we can finally get a decent car? ugh, yes...

Nostalgia aside, there is literally nothing I miss about that cruiser. The straight six was an absolute pig. The leaf springs sucked everywhere but 4 wheeling. The interior was noisy and not very nicely appointed. Rust at the back of the rear wheel wells.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
    Cletus: Duly noted.

Marky-Mark Whalburg is filming a movie at a house in the neighborhood. It’s like this for blocks, way bigger than other films they’ve shot in the ‘hood.

I wanted to yell something like that so badly, but they weren’t even letting residents down the block. We’ll see tomorrow lol.

Crosspost from another thread, but check out this coincidence. Neighbor had a new furnace install on the same day as me. Same brand even. So random.
