Beautiful day for a swim yesterday in Chicago. Water was a chilly 62 degrees! I survived a 5K without a wetsuit, though.

Well that's impressive, even if the water wasn't a tad chilly. I always swim laps in a 50 meter pool and the most I've swam straight is 3500 meters. Lake or ocean swimming is much more difficult. Is there much current or waves in a lake?

No current and the waves aren't bad because this is in a protected area behind a breakwater. In the areas near the openings in the wall there were swells of a few feet.
