I was on 30th floor of that thing during the last middling size one.

Working on network cable punch down in a narrow, dusty electrical riser room which was lit by florescent tube fixture hanging on chains.

Lights swung so hard the tubes smashed showering me in glass and leaving room dark and me hanging onto the floor.

I thought I was taking a 300 foot ride to street level.

Some poop might have tried to come out.

Believe I'm right in saying it's the same architect as the WTC twin towers?

My office is in that building. Evidently it's one of the safest in downtown due to how far the pillars go into bedrock. Then again, the wtc architect is the one who designed it so..

I wonder if they only pay property taxes on the footprint. Saving thousands of dollars!!!

I think it was originally designed that way to avoid building retail at base level, or something weird like that.

Isn't it on the part of downtown that UW owns? Something to do with that perhaps? It's always seemed a weird choice to give up that much potential income.

At least it's real architecture rather than the bought by the cubic foot shit that is being thrown up around the city...

Didja see the thingy in SI, where about 5 or 10 years ago at one of the award shows, Ali, with the parkensons, was getting on the elevator with Amad Rashad -spelling- already on, Rashad said Ali leaned over and wispered "We two pretty mutherfuckers"

there will never be another. Standing over a knocked down sonny liston screaming "what's my name"
    "Can't you see..."
