PF Flyers, they help you run faster and jump higher. I don't think I ever had a pair though. We graduated from what we called Grant specials ($2 plastic sole shit from W. T. Grant store) to Keds to Chuck Taylors (loved the sky blue) and then Pumas.

Gotdayum, I haven't heard of Grant's in a coons age. My Mother worked for them in Key West in the 70's.

Keds hi-tops and Sears Toughskins for me. Semi-denim pants. Iron on patch on the knee.

We were all about the Jack Purcell's

When I was 16 I got a pair of green suede Puma Clydes. I got sent on a month-long bike trip to Nova Scotia to get me out of the house for a while, I wore them and it rained for a week straight, my feet got dyed the most otherworldly shade of bright fluorescent green for about a month. I swear you could see my feet in the dark.

New moon and it's been blowing SW (almost straight onshore here) for like 10 days straight which pushes more water in, today's no exception, small craft advisory and gusting probably 30 or so.

Weather has been wonky lately - did you catch those two tornadoes in Europe?

Twin tornadoes whip through northern Europe, hospitalizing at least 14 people

Which bolt, the chain guide? Are you seriously trying to dremel through the hole on the chainring?

Those cranks are super easy to remove. Leave the cap on, undo the bolt with an 8mm, and the drive side pops right off. Then you'll have room to be able to get some purchase on it with vice grips. If it's already too compromised for that, you could use a reverse drill bit (but I'm guessing you don't have one), or at least have room to finish the dremel job.
