I’m convinced people in Seattlestan can’t drive. Or park. (not you Art, of course)

And Spook is drinking pints on the equator.

It’s not so bad once you learn to pass on the right and stay off the roads from 6am to 9pm.

people forget how to drive once they get on the ferry, they think there are no traffic laws in the islands and you do whatever you want. Bicyclists are even worse and think they are protected by an invisible box that no vehicle could ever enter, they stop in the road on blind corners, run stop signs and expect traffic to stop, and probably the worst are the ones are the ones with the kid (or dog) in the trailer who refuse to let cars pass because they wont move from the center of the lane.

Are you telling us that there’s a general sense of entitlement among cyclists?

I’ve got a thread for that.

Wake the World. It’s an event where foster kids, kids with parents in jail, and other underprivileged kids get to go out on boats for the day.

my better half wanted to bike tour here with the kid and i said no way. fortunately, one of her friends had done it with kids and said the same thing. now that i'm here, it seems amazingly foolish between the way people drive, the way people bike and the lack of a shoulder.

having worked in resorts and national parks in f&b for years, i am sympathetic, but the boy was past his bedtime and hungry and cranky and another hour wasn't going to work. we'll try again. the family loved orcas and it was surprisingly cheap to get and stay there doing the car camping thing.
