It’s flat, straight, boring, have to dodge people, bike gets covered in a fine grey dust, and the head winds suck. Never get tired of the view though. Click image for larger version.

North of Burlington VT - yes, Colchester and VT side of Champlain. Old rail tracks converted to a bike path. Pretty unique and views are gorgeous. I think it is about 3 miles to the cut so a 6 mile out and back from the south side.

Technically the bike ferry, where the photo was taken, is in South Hero, VT.

That looks like an awesome bike ride. My brother lived outside Burlington in Williston about 20 years ago, but I didn't ride back then.

The 1800's. It was a bumpier pedal back then.

It’s been there for a while but they keep making improvements. It’s about 15 miles round trip from my house to the cut and back. I think it’s 11 or 12 miles one way from downtown Burlington. If you go when the bike ferry is running you can cruise up into south hero for maple creamees and wine. It’s a great lap to ride from the house when I don’t have time or desire to drive somewhere to mountain bike.

Bike Ferry is still running fri-sun, it’s really neat, drops you on the other side of the ‘cut’ and then do a little lap on South Hero, really quiet and peaceful up there, killer views, smooth dirt roads, no problem on a road bike.Click image for larger version.

Yes...looking west from VT border. Adirondacks are the very pale blue in distance.

Ya, that looks nicer and smoother than 25ish years ago. Still was a nice thing to do.
