    Was all set for a morning swim today, but a rare thunderstorm came through Seattle. Pretty foreboding looking skies, that's for sure! People in the first photo had been out in the lake when they saw lightning, so they turned around and headed back to shore.

    ^^^ Yup, my in laws lived there for like 7 years when my wife and I were first married so we spent a good bit of time down there and I certainly gained an affinity for the way that the local palate could be so seemingly monochromatic and yet so completely alive with color if you looked in the right places.

    Eagle Falls near mile marker 39 of Highway 2 just a few miles east of the turnoff for Index. Awesome swimming hole later in the summer.
