I dunno if it's harder to remove the tracks or to put them away in the crawl space but I do know that neither is easy

I'm curious if it allows air to pass through thereby reducing sway during high wind events. I know those super slender skyscrapers are a big trend. The ESB is now way down the list of tallest buildings in Manhattan.

edit: yeah, sounds like that's the reason:
A main challenge of super-slender buildings is the management of lateral movements due to wind loads, which can cause discomfort for occupants. Various engineering techniques are used to address this issue. One approach to manage the wind loads is to use an open mechanical floor in the middle of a building to allow wind to flow through. This can reduce the wind loads and the resulting movements by 10%-15%

I know this has always started as a photo thread, but sometimes your view does not come with photographic evidence, NOR SHOULD IT, despite the fact that I am a photographer, and I could have, but sometimes it is truly inappropriate.

I will send a photo of sorts, but my "view right now" is more guttural, more in line with the essence of this thread. It's late.

Long day, federal holiday my ass. Everyone I knew worked, and I didn't even use my voice until 6:30 tonight. Much work done, but motivated, despite the wind to go to league night and throw some disc. Not one person knew it was a holiday, speaks of the culture, I had to google it myself yesterday. Texas, always 2 years late on enlightenment.

Came home, properly brined my half chicken was from the morning. Put it into my clay pot with a bunch of herbs and some nice tomato stock, green chile, and seared and put that into the pot with a nice vermicelli rice mix to chill for an hour while I pull up some youtube moto travel videos.

    BUUUBBBOOOM. WTFuuuuk?

Socks off, food on, a youtube of a moto traveler, cracked a beer, and WTF?

Instinct on. Fuck, this happened the other day with a bicyclist. Just the other day. Running over my fence when I saw him do a full double, double over the bars. And I ran and screamed "are you OK MAN?" He's like, Hey "me", what happanned??? My neighbor in the seat by the fire hear the thump and jumped, and the guy who taco'd was like like, "HEEEYYYY MAKERS, HOOOOOW ARRE YOUU........" Serious brain damage.

    Tonight was a different night.

Otay, jump the fence, wheels still spinning, lights on, head on full speed into a parked car, both pushed up on the sidewalk. Yeah, that hard. Full on cross the street and plow. Ford Focus at full steam meets VW Jetta at zero. Both, not on the road.

Checked inside, she's lucid, told her to turn off the car if she can, she could, wheels still spinning. Get her out, check the other car which was parked. No body, thank Jebus.

Pat her down for major injuries once out. Look her in the eye and say what is up? Tell her to grab her purse, any shit she may have and help her hobble across the road into my place.

Give her a blanket so she doesn't shock out, tell her that she didn't kill anyone, and then make her breathe and tell her that I have to call this in because there are two cars on the sidewalk that are steaming and blowing fluids.

Question 1, Are you OK? I asked that you 10 times, are you OK, PHYSICALLY?

    OK.

Question 2, Are you fucked up? What do you have? Give it to me.

3 baggies and a meth a pipe and a wrapped up burger receipt with random shit that she doesn't even know.

OTay. I need you to breathe, stay calm, everything is going to be fine. How old are you? Were you ever in a car accident as a teen? No? OK well, you are having one. It happens. You didn't kill anyone, you are ok. Check her ID, she just turned 21.

What is your name? Who are your parents? Where were you going?

Well my exhaust was fucked and my friends worked on it today, and then my BF needed me to come to GJ and I did. Then my car just pulled to the left and I don't remember.

    OK.

I thank jebus that there wasn't a two car fire. She pulled into a car at 45 head on and threw her car and another over the sidewalk.

I pulled her in, gave her a little coaching, called dispatch, cleared the road, saved some ambi call, and put a puffy and a cold glass of water with her while she dealt with the 2 hours of flashing lights while I coached the tow trucks what to bring to clean up the mess.

A mess it was. I wish I was so lucky to fuck up so innocently at her age. I know her family remotely, but I don't know them personnaly. That's kinda the way it does around here. My last name sticks out and I think I have made an impression, but there are only a few that have actually established this area, and I've been entrenched with them for a reason, and most white people don't.

And know she knows me. Some how, but I don't know her. She's 21, if I believer her. She's safe, if I believe her.

    I know she isn't arrested.

That is my view. Long night. 3 am.

Then I thought it was late enough to call Mir and coordinate a pickup of a tomato plant that she doesn't have room for that I might be able to foster.

    So that's my view.

Sorry to derail that for a minute up there last night/this morning. Here, back on track.

That owl explosion tonight was mind blowing.

Yeah, I wanted an owl, it's a fucking terrier.

Or it could be a fucking wolf. Anywho. It was rrrrowww.

I can make a lot of shit up, but not that.

    Or a stormtrooper? I don't do rorschach's well, obviously.
