Agreed. SXSs are the locusts of outdoor recreation. They tear through the land, leaving destruction in their wake.

Indeed. I ride a motorcycle in the desert and mountain areas and the trails that allow sxs are vastly qualitatively different (read-destroyed) compared to moto-only trails. And I guess MTB/hiker trails are that much less ripped up than moto only.

I’m all in for open public lands, but designated routes by vehicle are a better way to manage rather than just wide open it all up.

The big issue I see in the unregulated desert riding areas I frequent in NV and Baja is that the SXSs follow singletrack until they inevitably have to turn around, making a giant torn up mess. Many of the moto trails that aren't extreme enduro have been turned into roads.

Well, there are issues with everything now. The electric little motocross bikes are riding on our mtn bike trails now. Mtn bike trails are not built for motors. The issue is use rules being enforced...much of our stuff is on private land, so it's all rogue trails without rules. Anything goes. All the rec toys should have their place imo. We all know that they're not going away, so the fact that they're going electric is a step in the right direction no matter what.

Consider that the areas we all love are being destroyed by ever more capable off-road vehicles. Are you preserving these areas for your kids and future generations? Are you teaching your kids to use these areas in a way that can be sustainable for the future?

I was trying to say this by posting a pic but perhaps too subtle for the geniuses around here. This is one of my fav threads. F*ck off with your anger,

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues
