I have none, really.
I haven't talked to the guy in over 20yrs and than I received an email from someone I don't know about him passing while skiing at Loveland.
Email stated when the memorial services were going to be. I confirmed that with the church.
So it seems he passed and there is a service for him. But Google turns up nothing about him passing.

Not sure if it's Loveland ski area or Loveland Pass...

Yes I could respond to the email. But now is not the time for the person who sent me the email to have that conversation.

I thought I saw something about heart-attack if I am keeping info straight. Which can be questionable at times.

Agreed on both points. After high school, we went separate ways. But it was a WTF moment when that email came across.
Thanks guys...

I know the guy, not well, we work in the same office. I heard about it from my supervisor this weekend, but zero details. It was finally reported in the paper this morning, but still no details.

Sorry for the loss...
Don't think this is the guy I know as the article stated his age was 59 - not 46/47 as I expected.
Sad deal for sure...

It feels weird having people say "sorry for your loss" to me as I barely knew him; heck I didn't even know he was a hardcore skier. But I do know people well that knew him well, and they're distraught. Not surprisingly, the office is pretty somber, lots of closed office doors.

It happens.
Vibes to his loved ones.
Not the worst way to go out.
I don't mean to sound callous, but most who post here ski in a manor that makes this a possibility every time we hit the slopes.Own your fail. ~Jer~

This is the hard thing to swallow for me. I had a friend getting pissed when his perfectly-good binding prereleased at a 12 DIN this weekend skiing some narrow bumps between trees at Loveland. If you're skiing at a pace where 12DIN isn't enough near trees, shit like this is only a missed turn or ejection away.
A tough year for Luv.
Vibes too all those who knew him.
