Not really. That's one of the beautiful things about skiing--you can have a great time even if you suck. Ask me how I know this. And you also provide amusement for onlookers and jerry-of-the -day watchers. In that respect it's a lot better than sucking at playing the violin.

Being inept doesn't give you an excuse to dress like that.
(And it actually requires a fair bit of skill to get yourself into a position like that. Personally the only time my skis leave the snow is when some other body part is on the snow.)

I think I was banned for few months from Epic after suggesting that Wear The Fox Hat geezer to shove his hat up his arse.
Figures.
On the positive side got contacted by some EpicSkier that was coming to this side of the pond with his significant other for "some serious skiing in Scandinavia and The Alps, not some mellow double black diamond stuff".
Sent him some beta from Northern Norway & Aosta.

Never heard of him after that. Didnt realize he was looking for Pisten Carving on Rax or something.

It was an interesting night. I had a big glass of bourbon, two computers up and between deleting posts and rebuttles on Powder...it was actually fun. It was a hazing and after an hour or so, it got pretty light hearted and we all actually shared a few laughs.

Epic and TGR complemented each other, TGR is a bar that serves food, Epic was a restaraunt that served drinks. There are more skiers that went to both sites that care to admit. I will say, that while there were barbs thrown back and forth, there was a ton of respect too.

I did join in 2005, and almost stopped posting after the big changes of 2009 (that was 2009 ? Suddenly there were dozens of forums...). But it's a sad day. And sad to all lose the history.

DD, have you ever been there? Obviously not. When I first stumbled upon this place, there was an Ogden mag whose brother would take pics of his skiing and post them here. Two of the nicest guys I ever met and fucking great skiers. They showed me lines in Snowbasin neither of us will ever ski and MD9 ripped them, so try it before you knock it.

Just looked at the Mammoth site.They raised there ticket prices,OUCH! $73 dollars for a holiday ticket.They do list the 2 day ticket now.
