No but with EpicRace, EpicMix, EpicPass, EpicPhoto, EpicBurger, EpicEct.... they bought EpicSki a few years back. The site wwas a place holder until they decided what to do with it. Huddler going down jsut forced their hand.

I never posted there, but I still think it sucks that it's disappearing. As someone who had a forum I liked a lot do that, first by slowly fading then abruptly dying (TTips), I know it sucks for those who care about it.

But I hope it doesn't negatively impact this place.

Huddler is no longer hosting forums. Vail had months to move the content. they also had numoerous offers to buy the content. They chose to let it die.

This seems....weird. Didn't Huddler get bought by Wikia just a couple of years ago? What's driving this, if you know? Also, I don't really understand why they wouldn't sell the content or the entire site, move it, and rename it. Seems like there's some money to be made as opposed to letting it die without getting some cash. Eighteen years of content, some of it pretty good, some of it, shit, not unlike any forum, including this one. Too bad to lose all that history of Highway Star....

Epicski was created in part to be monetized, this board (I have always assumed, anyway) is simply a byproduct of TGR productions. As long as they can sell movies this place should be OK. I think. Aside from the fact that it's sort of turned into a cesspool...whatever.

This is very Stalinist. Just take over a whole thing and then make it vanish. Truely an act from the dark side. Now, to complete this and go full circle, create a whole new social network under the Vail Inc. digital umbrella. Name it Epic whatever, and never acknowledge the existence of the other forum.

I always felt a feeling of desperation to monetize Epic Ski. It creeped me out a bit. It seemed forced. The ski experience being promoted by those in power was just not my cup of tea.
But there were a good number of solid ski enthusiasts there.
