I agree there are many very accomplished women out there. Who do not make a living from Skiing or mountaineering.

I had never heard of her until this thread was started. It appears she has been fairly successful for quite some time.
I guess her latest accomplishments are something that sets her apart? Keeps her relevant in an industry with a good bit of competition.

Agreed, but so what? Honestly, good average pow skiing is pretty damn fun and IMO the biggest difference between those "getting after it" or not has to do with commitment, like waking up before sunrise and getting out to the trailhead early. That kind of stuff. Maybe that's the new "rad" and maybe that's a good thing?

Also, if someone isn't into the social media thing that's cool, but bitching about obvious reality is kinda lame.

I would hope there is an audience for both. And would depend on the product. Filming editing the talent and all that stuff.
That said a women doing a bunch of technical BC lines is less common than Heli lines at this point.

I'm curious what the context was and what your expectations were when you met them? I've met plenty of people (ski industry, music industry, scientific community) that didn't meet my expectations at the time, but then I realized later that I had unrealistic expectations given the context.

I had all kinds of preconceived notions about Lynsey that were rendered totally irrelevant when she stayed at my house during the filming of "Pretty Faces". She was nice, fun, a respectful guest, and her dedication to her project was very apparent. More power to her!

If I had to judge you on your post above I'd probably conclude you were an asshole, but when we skied and worked together for a few days a while back I did not get that impression at all. "No offense... but you've got the personality of a wooden block?" How would you expect that to be received if not offense?

I'm not pretending to be an expert on message board psychology.

However, I'd probably say that lady skiers have to craft/ create an extra layer of defense against people they come in contact with.

I just think it's proof that they have to put up with extra bullshit.
