    High End down comforter

    I am looking for suggestions.

    I want a very high end, Light, Soft, quality made. American made King size down comforter. {No synthetics}

The kind of bedding used in Bavaria 40 years ago. Bedding you love and care for.

I have 1,000$ dollars of fake shit around my house now. I want the real thing.

    Suggestions?

If'n you want the *real deal* should prolly go with Scandinavian made, imho.
They kind of kicked off the whole *down duvet* thing, back in the 70's.

Feathered Friends, made in Seattle. Sure feel nice in the store, if I had the cash I'd buy one.

    ^^^ hmmn...well,
Except you are gonna have a few different removable, washable covers that the duvet will *always* be inside when you are using it.

You do not want to ever wash the actual comforter/duvet.
    Only wash the covers.

Hey, have you seen how much actual Eider Down costs?
    That is the OG shit.
    Can get in Canadian product.

Eider ducks are fkn hella hardcore.
See them & their tiny ducklings heading straight into the surf on the stormiest of winter days.
Not raised. Has to be collected from wild abandoned nests.
A few thousand $$ should get you one.

What Turx said, the actual fabric of the comforter shouldn't matter that much, because you'll have it in a cover all the time.

As for not ever washing the actual comforter, well, I wouldn't go that far, but certainly wash as infrequently as possible. But you can wash the cover as often as you wash your sheets.

+1 for Feathered Friends. Nicest down products I've ever seen. The nicer ones are baffled (i.e., not sewn through).

Would buy the FF comforter, but not their cover. Wife and I really like the Parachute stuff: https://www.parachutehome.com/produc...ant=4219912961

    Thanks For that. Looking.

A few years ago I bought a fairly expense Egyptian Duvet cover with matching Pillow Cases.
I was very disappointed it was nothing like I imagined t's like rough Canvas after a wash. Heavy, sucks.

Looking forward to that "Really comfy Bed feeling again"

Ehh, Not made in the USA - I am getting kinda militant about that. When ever possible

Yeah, mother-in-law bought us a parachute sheet set, and I love the feel. Light but fairly smooth and soft. It's not all about the threadcount. I have also bought a 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet set that was fairly expensive and hated it. Like you said—too heavy and rough.

Parachute also make a sateen fabric, but I prefer less shiny/smooth and more like soft cotton. That's my uneducated but opinionated take, anyway.

Exactly, The 900 count thing I got defeated the whole purpose of the light warm soft comforter.
